Does this man bring profound enlightenment to us all with his riveting pronouncements ?

Agree with you Naomi

If you believe at all in the continuation of the Monarchy in the UK, it would, in my opinion, be approproriate for Charles as a future Royal Head of State to refrain from pronouncing on any political or other matters publicly, in the same way and to same degree as his Mother does. Alternatively, perhaps he should resign as a "royal" surrendering his royal income and estates and become a politician or journalist or cleric or a professional public speaker.

Personally, I would have no objection to the termination of the monarchy once the Queen goes.

Well done Old Dutch and Boxtops. I know we've all had a bit of fun here, me included, but this is actually a very serious issue. I agree with you Old Dutch. If the monarchy ended with the demise of the present queen, I would have no objection whatsoever because apart from anything else, in my opinion, Charles is unfit for office.

here here naomi (or is it hear hear ?), old big ears has had a very good long lucrative fun run as Prince of Wales - time for him and other royalty retire along with the Queen when she decides to go !

According to popular usage twice as many people say "here here" than say "hear hear". But is that correct? Wikipedia says no:
