Israel and the Jewish people do not wish death on the Muslim population.

Jewish people do not want to see the extermination of Muslims. Much as the Jewish faith disagrees with the Muslim�s faith, they do not want Muslims to die.

The Muslims on the other hand, cannot stand the very idea of Jewish people even existing. Funny that isn�t? There is another entity which hated Jews - So much so, that it managed to exterminate several million of them. Back then, the exterminators were called Nazi�s. And they too, wanted to exterminate the Jews.

Seriously, why do Muslim hate the Jewish people so much?

There's no doubt that foreign journalists were barred from Gaza because Israel didn't want the world to see what it was doing - there can be no other reason. It also appears that Hamas has little concern for the suffering of its own people, and wants Israel wiped off the face of the planet (in fact they've said as much). If a solution could be found that the rest of the world saw as acceptable, it's doubtful that either side would embrace it because they both want it all. It's stalemate. Looking at the situation historically, the Palestinian people have been treated appallingly, and who can blame them for feeling deep resentment? At the same time, the Jews have also been treated appallingly, but they are there in Israel now, and no amount of rockets, or terrorist bombs will change that - and looking at it from their point of view, who can blame them? There's an all or nothing hate-filled mentality on both sides and neither is, or ever will be, prepared to seek a resolution in compromise. So what is the answer?

As far as the history is concerned, birdie you can not fool people. Muslims have always defended Jews and given them shelter. Even Israel is part of that history. I don�t think I have to elaborate on this.

I was recently reading something and title was, Is USA a bigger Israel or Israel a smaller USA. It was all about how Europeans when moved to America cleaned out the local population. Same way few thousands of Jews cleaned out Palestinians with the help of Americans who already had experience and expertise to carry out these sorts of things. Now any one can try comparing two equations and would get the answer to birdie�s question.

How many Red Indians were there at that time and how many are now. As compared to the Americans we now know? Simple ratio will do.

How many Palestinians were there in 1946 compared to Jews and what is the ratio now?

birdie .... I agree with Hamas, Israel should never have existed. Balfour has a lot to answer for. What other religions have their own state.? You talk about several million Jews exterminated which leads me to a question I have asked many times on here, i.e. 55 million lost their lives in WWII and we are told, continuously, 5.5 million Jews. How many Christians, Muslims, Hindu, etc etc etc ? How come it is only the Jews who are counted?

Dr ... it is amazing, isn't it? I seem to remember a guy, Tony Martin, I believe, who lived as a bit of a recluse and a couple of no-goods broke into his house and he shot and killed one of them. I also seem to remember that Mr Martin had massive public support and his undeserved prison sentence was reduced. The Israelis are at the present on the land which was occupied by the people they are persecuting. Still, you never know. Maybe we will be surprised in the future because the Daily Telegraph today reports Obama as promising to "close the revolving door that lets lobbyists come into government freely and lets them use their time in public service as a way to promote their own interests". Don't hold your breath though !!!

Keyplus � Your historical map is quite recent. Are you aware that the land that is currently called Israel has been fought over for over 2000 years? The dispute over the land is not recent. This is a very, very long running dispute about who has the �right� to live in this particular geographic area.

You can�t. Unless those people are being systematically exterminated because of their beliefs.

You can�t assume anyone�s religious belief just because they conform to a racial stereotype or happen to live in a particular area.

The number of �Christians�, �Muslims�, and any other religious denomination (other than Jews) killed in WWII will never, and can never be known. Best guesses is all you�re going to get.

The fact is, the Jews were the only group of people who the Nazis specifically targeted for extermination.

If the Nazis had specifically targeted Christians for extermination, the numbers of dead Christians would be well documented. The number of Jews wouldn�t.
