PB with the greatest respect, the 'small mistake ' is one we all make without thinking, we take our eye off the ball for an instant with what seems at the time good reason, and life has a habit of turning around and kicking us in the teeth for that momentary lapse, I know all too well, and have suffered for those moments, god, do I wish I was perfect, but it can never be!!!

Yes Prudentia, I`ve been on holiday many times with my family and I`ve returned with them too, not too difficult is it if you look after them

To be honest, I have to agree with Elvis here. The children were very neglected, and more to the point, knowing that they'd be on holiday with friends, and expecting to dine/drink out without the children being there, then the parents should've paid for a nanny to go with them, or at the very least, used the childcare service on offer. Who in their right mind'd leave toddlers all alone in a strange country?? They might've woken up at any minute, thirsty or just wanting to see their parents - as youngsters do. Can you imagine their distress if they had, and not found anyone there? It was disgusting of the McCanns, but despite it all, it's poor Maddie's fate which upsets me most.

Thank you Ice, it really annoys me when people say you can`t blame the parents when it is clearly their fault, if they were at the apartment Maddie wouldn`t have gone missing

It`s not as if they turned their backs for a few minutes and she was gone, they left her alone, and Kate even said Maddie asked why they wasn`t there the night before yet they still went out that night

Easy in hindsight to compare your parenting perfections against the McCanns. Kicking McCanns doesn't help the cause of finding Maddie. Their campaign does highlight disasters of holidays in Portugal; which Portugese police deserve for incompetence.

How dare the Portugese think we will 'roll-over & shutup' at the kidnap of our children because our society is more relaxed & trusting than theirs? You give them your money for a sneer but I wont!
