Due to all the stuff about dangerous playground games has anyone ever taken drastic action to prevent an accident re-occuring. I once fell over running with my hands in my pockets and they got stuck so my chin got the brunt of it. Had stitches and everything.
Well the point was that mum ended up sewing all my pockets up to stop it happening again!!!!

Your mum sounds like a crazy woman (snicker)
Did she have nothing better to do with her time than sew up all your pockets? I would have hoped that the pain would have taught you that it was a bad idea to run with your hands in them ha ha
(love you really mum)
Well I recently fell over as an adult (completely sobor I may add!) with my hands full of shopping bags and now have a scar on my chin to show for it (bled like nothing!) and had to go into work with a big scab on my chin - nice.......anyway - I believe that bumps, scrapes even breaks (although I imagine my son would scream to high heaven if that happens!) are part of growing up
Surely it would have been less hassle in the long term to cut your hands off?

People never think these things through, do they? ;-)
I was relieved when straight legged jeans came into fashion in the late 70's.

I had to stop wearing flares after getting them caught in the railings I was climbing over..bashing my face in.

I ws teased mercilessly for not donning my flares after that :o(
I once went down a steep path with no brakes on my bike and bare feet, so had to save myself from going onto the road by using my toes.my poor toes, I can still remember my mum bandaging them.I never did that again!
I got my dungaree strap caught on my bike handlebars when I was about eight, I came a right cropper. (The dungarees were purple velvet and flared - the 70's has a lot to answer for)
