Labour Party 'Charity' Auction

I rarely get seriously upset by anything at all, but the news that Labour Party suporters auctioned a signed copy of The Hutton Report signed by Cherie Blair has left me incadescent with rage and disgust!

What on earth were these people thinking of! This is a report into a man's suicide, caused by the government chicanery that left his sense of honour so damaged he felt unable to continue living.

Aside from the sheer crass insensitivity of the notion of selling this document, there is the small matter of the fact that it was given free to all MP's - a snip at �70.00 (!) from HMSO for the rest of us - and, more importantly, if the Labour Party seriously imagine that they are a 'charity' - the proceeds were to go to Party funds - why not auction doccuments that would raise some serious money - such as the 'intelligence concerning the WOMD that have led us into a war? I'd pay to read that!

Finally, having had basic courtesy and sensitivity pointed out to them (which as 'mature' adults and public figures seems a worrying absence in their thinking) the participants now wheedle out of a proper apology by advising that "... offence was not intended ..."

Great. Usding that logic, none of the victims of any road accident are dead or injured when hit by a stranger because, following that logic, ..."no injury was intended ..." so nothing really happens. Does it?

Any thoughts, while I go for some more asprin?

Well Andy, I think it just demonstrates that New Labour are completely ruthless and that nothing is too low for them in their pursuit and retention of power. I can only fear what is next in "the project". I mean the Tories did some sleaze fair enough but bl00dy hell, they can, like the rest of us, pay hommage to the masters. We're talking premier league here!

When asked in parliament the poodle just gave a 3 word answer ' no offence intended'. What is also particularly galling is that the Hutton report is one of the most buttock clenchingly sycophantic work from a government appointed arse lick there has been or will ever be in the history of government sponsored investigations. remember that man Hutton was the one who forgave soldiers killing joy riders in Northern Ireland. he is beneath contempt. I spit on his old frame.

I am afraid as a so-called socialist party they have almost no regard for the general public or the feelings of the general public.

These people are on the gravy train and after all they can get.

Look at Prescott. In what other business or industry would a person be stripped of almost all responsibility but still keep their massive salary and all the perks.

Just because he is a friend of Tony Blair.

I think they are all skating on very thin ice.

Pity we do not have a strong opposition party to oppose them.

Other past leaders like Margaret Thatcher would have ripped them to shreds.

My guess is that the intelligence report on WOMD will be neatly filed in the same palce as the sinking of the Belgrano report......... Goverments come and go but similar issues always seem to crop up!?
