After years of being the one in the family who hosted the rest , usually ending up in tears before the queen finished her speech a few years ago I decided to opt out. Caused a lot of upset in the family but I prefer a  quiet few days with a box set and too many nice ( not Nice they are boring) biscuits

I used to have a tradition of getting rat arsed.

Then kids came along, and I had to be more responsible.

Changing ones avatar, i did put up ones Chritmas tree today... much merryment if anyone llooks at it

It always feels Christmassy when Arky puts up that avatar.

Himself and I always have something different on Christmas eve for dinner - for example

Smoked salmon, cavier and vodka

Indian

Chinese

Lebonese

Sushi

Charcutterie board

Just a few examples over the years

Aye.. the day I like to be left alone... braw 😎

I turn the radio off 2 weeks before Christmas and dont turn on until the 1st Jan,so i dont have to suffer Slade.

Yes.  I insist on having Carols from Kings on Christmas Eve and immerse myself in the kitchen with a bottle of fizz.  This is my 90 mins of peace and loveliness for the whole year.  Woe betide ANYONE who attempts to speak to me during that time.

Like Barmaid, 'Carols from King's'.  I now think I'll add a bottle  of fizz to the occasion.  Also always used to go round the village in a group carol singing - housebound folk would get requests to us - and end up in the pub where we collected lots of cash by singing requests  .... or maybe  they forked out so we'd stop, I don't know.  That tradition has gone, not enough of us now, sadly.

Christmas eve

Cold pork and pickles, a few beers and it's a wonderful life, missus goes to bed and I watch Die hard

My tradition is to never cook a Christmas Dinner/Lunch.

Daughter and I always watch Love Actually with a couple of bottles of fizz and picky bits.  I can't wait.

We'll also go to the rubbish Christmas market at the Southbank for some mulled wine and food. I like the lights

Only ever put the decorations 12 day's before Christmas and take them down on the 12th day after Christmas.

Every year I buy th Christmas issue of the Radio Times, intent on planning my Christmas viewing.  Then, a few weeks into January, I thow it into my recycling bin, always totally unopened!

When I chucked it out last year, I vowed that I'd break the habit this year.  However the Christmas RT goes on sale tomorrow, so I'll probably do it all over again!

Oh, look it's steg.
understandable my dear .
take care .

put a balaclava over my mother's head to stop her from crying for 3 days as my mother's favourite sister died on Christmas Eve and that's why I so loathe Christmas

Awe, that's understandable jj, the holiday period is not always a jolly time for everyone.

I hibernate until it's all over.

Same as OG.

We never open presents until after Christmas lunch. I inherited that from my parents and have continued with it. I also make and drink a lot of snowballs.
