Which would not have applied to UK passport holders if we were still in the EU – maybe you can blame her stupidity, but another Brexit victim all the same.

The majority of the UK electorate now want us to re-join the EU – It’s time our leaders accepted this and bowed to the will of the people, or are you all against democracy?
That's according to what you want to read. No one I know who voted to leave has changed their mind, and neither have I. We're out - and that's as a result of democracy in action. As a fan of democracy you've nothing to complain about.
hymie: "The majority of the UK electorate now want us to re-join the EU – It’s time our leaders accepted this and bowed to the will of the people, or are you all against democracy? " - so are you suggesting another referendum? Or simply sweeping the last one under the carpet?

Now the majority have realised that they were conned by the likes of Farage, Johnson, Davies, Gove etc – it’s time for a vote based on reality, Brexit is an absolute disaster for the UK.
So another referendum then? You do realise that remain were the odds on favourites last time. How do you know the electorate will not vote the same way again?
...or are you suggesting a TPLAC style dictator's vote with attendant vast state propaganda for remain and none for leave?

And the Brexiteers are denying the results of opinion polls - this is getting ridiculous, with Brexiteers refusing to accept the truth.
No we are saying if you have another vote how can you be sure it will be any different? PS see 14:11
// this is getting ridiculous//

Time you stopped then.
I'll accept the truth when the result of any future referendum is known. Why won't you do the same?
So as I asked just now will you be joining the rally Hymie.
I see you have been avoiding my questions about rejoining, wonder why!
I reckon hymie is that bloke that was saying "Stoooop Breeexxxxiiiitt" in parliament square for about 4 years. That was the full extent of his argument and reasoning!
what would the terms of a referendum be.? A vote to say we want to ask/beg to be allowed back? On any particular terms? Do you think the upheaval involved in renegotiating and changing systems again would be worth it. Will it be another once in a generation vote? Or will there be a option to vote to leave again in 5 years if public opinion changes again
TTT, that was the bloke from Port Talbot the Lib Dem one. He's not too popular there either as they always vote Labour there with Kinnocks son being the MP these days.
Has Hymie taken over from someone else on here in not answering simple questions.
Hymie doesn't like any questions that make him think outside is core beliefs. That's why he hasn't answered here:

Is it the same one as here. Oddly he was allowed to drive across borders
//…my bet is that they would be none too happy if someone came into their house and stole £1,000 – but that is what Brexit has done.//

Yes, they probably would. But that isn’t what’s happened. Nobody is personally £1,000 worse off because of Brexit. Some are worse off because of energy price increases; some are worse off because of inflation. Neither of these are attributable to Brexit. I personally am far better off than I was four or five years ago. My income has increased considerably; my investments have increased in value (after a temporary downturn due to Covid); my cash deposits are now earning a realistic rate of interest (following fifteen years of ultra-low rates which have caused more problems than they were designed to solve). The total value of my assets (excluding the value of my house) has increased by about 15% since 2018. None of that is due to Brexit either.

For a bit of balance, there was a letter in the Daily Telegraph yesterday. It was written by David Millar, Managing Director of Heap and Partners, Birkenhead:

------
“Sir - Britain’s manufacturing sector is staring to benefit from Brexit.

This summer, Make UK revealed that manufacturing employment is growing in 75% of English regions and the whole of Wales, Yorkshire and Humber has seen the biggest jump.

Manufacturing companies are moving more production back to this country, and British customers are now expressing a preference for British-made products.

British exports are growing as well. My company has been exporting for the last 157 years but has never done much in Europe. Post-Brexit, thanks to us onshoring production back into our own factory, we are now selling more than ever to Europe.

By carefully selecting which products to onshore, using the latest techniques and designing for manufacture, we can make them more cheaply in Britain, improve quality, offer more features and radically reduce lead times – all while lowering the carbon footprint of production.

Manufacturers and consumers also need to think about the ethical implications of buying from countries that don’t have the same values and standards as our own.

Contrary to popular belief, this is proving a good time to be manufacturing in Britain.”

Here’s their website.

So not everyone agrees with your opinion and I doubt Mr Millar is alone in his experiences. I have a suspicion that those allegedly wishing to see the UK rejoin the EU do not do so because of the financial hit they are supposedly taking. I suspect their desire for membership is more a “fear of being left out” or of fear of being different. That’s fine because my desire to leave was similarly ideological. But let’s not dress it up with opinions touted as facts.
