We are having Gingsters pasties, chunky oven chips, and baked beans. Maybe followed by a slice of cherry pie with custard, depends on how full we both are.
I’m going with the ‘feed a cold, starve a fever’ thing, for himself. He has no raised temperature now, but is on steroids.
I’m going with totally fed up with being stuck indoors since, well, quite a while, for myself, and not sleeping even in another bedroom because of his coughing (I know he can’t help it,poor thing, but I’m sooo tired).
And wine.
And G&T.
And anything with calories which I fancy.

Sounds like a plan to me :)

I am doing a surf and turf stir fry, not too many veg, but all beautifully prepped! Bon appetit! Have you got earplugs?
Question Author
Can I come round choux, I’ll bring wine and anything else you fancy? Surf and turf stir fry sounds very nice, what’s on it…seawater and sods?
Pesto baked salmon, diced roasted potatoes, green veg selection.
It may be raining, yet again, but we are a bit too inland for seawater to be a problem, I hope!

Vagus, you would be very welcome, king prawns, tender chicken breast, mushrooms, asparagus, peeled red pepper, peeled organic celery, lovely fresh spring onions and a little pak choi. Some nice prawn crackers too. OH fancies it, so that is what I am off to cook soon.
Himself is having bangers and mash with roasted onion gravy.
I am having a sausage and baked beans
Question Author
Be more specific, Sharon, it sounds very nice..what’s the green veg selection, and how do you do the pesto (what sort?) baked salmon?
will you have a sauce choux?
Question Author
Choux is saucy enough, bednobs ;)
Shepherds pie (well, it’s actually cottage pie as it’s beef mince but…..). Bit of brown sauce. Cheese on top. Ant wait. Might have 2 portions.
*can’t wait
Question Author
Helen, I’d have baked beans with just about anything, himself is less keen. I love bangers, chips and beans but he prefers the bangers in a baguette. Sometimes I ignore his pleas… ;)
something with pork mincee - probably dirty rice
OH ate so much fish whilst the NHS were caterers I am surprised no dorsal fin protruded through the spine. Might get some salmon for tomorrow though. I have a spare lemon - 3 unwaxed lemons for £1.75! I am not wasting any at that price, lol.
Question Author
Shepherds/cottage pie, all the same to me Zacs. I love the stuff and can shovel it in at a great rate if I’m very hungry. Himself has red sauce with his, I just have it au naturelle.
No sauce as such, bednobs, but a little light soy, lemon juice and zest and a little fresh ginger. OH not very keen on too much spice and deffo no chilis.
Question Author
OMG choux, don’t waste them there lemons!
Trouble with using stuff up, I’ve found, is it costs more to buy things to make things. Worth it I suppose, to avoid food waste, which is my mission this year..and last. I am a goddess in the kitchen.
I've had such a chesty cough recently (still have it) but can not bring oneself to be peeling the fresh veg in my fridge (I was - have being planning on a sausage casserole) so may settle for a Sausage sarnie.
Question Author
Scuse me bednobs, what’s dirty rice? I’ve seen ‘dirty’ in reference to other food stuff too, what does it mean?
Question Author
Arky, sausage butty is wonderful when you’re not so good, or even if you’re top notch, enjoy it, I love ‘em. Hope you feel better soon, not nice to feel poorly.
You don’t want to be peeling veg in your fridge, arky. The kitchen is much better ;-)
