The EU is worse off than the UK, as might be expected thanks to all the struggling eastern economies it's taken on. But the euro area is doing quite a lot better: the UK is close to bottom among the industrialised countries of western Europe. It's not a great record.

Not entirely accurate, the liberals were in there at the begining and as with most minority Governments nothing happens for the good of the country.
