Why? The Krays cultivated a large number of showbusiness personalities as friends, enjoying the reflected limelight that their association created.

At the time, the Krays were seen as charity supporters and businessmen, a lot of people were unaware of their less savoury activities.

You have to remember that, at that time, homosexuality was still a criminal offence, and absolutely frowned on by all levels of society.

Any gay man, especially ones with earned reputations as hard men such as the Krays, would ensure that their sexuality was a very well kep secret, and dating glamorous well-known women was an excellent cover.

It's possible that Ms Windsor enjoyed a celebate relationship with one or both of the Kray twins. Ronnie was less concerned about his orientation being known, but Reggie hid it from just about everyone.
