She didn't resign for 'having deportation targets' she had to resign because she repeatedly denied saying that she had such targets. It was then proved she was lying. Yet another case of a politician not remembering the importance of ''When your in a hole,stop digging''

As Home Secretary, Ms Rudd said there were 'no targets', and then turned around and said there were targets, but she was not aware of them, it was then proven that she was aware.

Her situation was either that she knew about targets, and lied, or she didn't know, and as HS, she should have known.

Whichever way, she had to go.
