You may not be able to read it all, but enough to get the idea.

If this took place in marginal constituencies - which would have been the whole point of doing it - could it have made a big difference to the outcome of the election?

In today's paper there is a report of a student on Twitter bragging that he voted six times. You may want to deny that it happened but it did.I have a neighbour at university who has admitted that students did vote more than once.
It's perfectly reasonable to disbelieve something has happened without proof.

Which paper? Show me. If I google "student voted six times", all I can find is more suggestions from unnamed MPs.

And your neighbour is irrelevant. I have no idea who they are or how on earth they would know.
danny....in that case, there should be plenty of evidence that this practise happened....whether it was widespread will be more difficult to be sure about though.
Kromo, I have said all I want to say on this matter,It is obvious that you are determined to deny what happened.
I don't know if you're a big social media user Danny, but I can assure you that if this is happening on any kind of significant scale it would be extraordinarily easy to verify even for an average person with a computer, much less professional journalists who are essentially paid to sit and write up what they are getting from twitter all day.
Yes Danny I am not going to be convinced by "My neighbour says it happened so therefore it did." Nail me to the cross.
I guess all kromo's asking for is a primary source. That's not the same as denying anything. It's just the "citation needed" of AB.

I think in either this article or a related one reference was made to "1,000 email complaints" about this sort of fraud. It's quite likely that many of these were complaints about the same incident. The basic point, again, is that I don't think there's any reason to believe that this was more than just a couple of isolated incidents. One student boasts of voting six times (apparently), many people pick up on this, and either exaggerate the scale or allow the impression to be drawn that this is only the tip of the iceberg.

Again, for the record, if indeed one student voted six times then I hope they are caught and punished appropriately. But also, again, any such case(s) of fraud was (were) certainly not the reason the Tories failed to win a majority.
Jim....."But also, again, any such case(s) of fraud was (were) certainly not the reason the Tories failed to win a majority.

You can say that again !
If it can be shown that any seat result was effected by this then have a rerun of that seat otherwise stop whining. We Tories ran a terrible campaign, end of.

Voting fraud is serious offence, punishable by a custodial sentence, only the conceited and stupid would brag how they have voted six times, the majority would naturally keep stumm. The comments of mikey and kromo are simply wishful thinking, I think a full investigation is needed and if it was found to be as widespread as some believe, bye elections held in dubious constituencies.

jim //any such case(s) of fraud was (were) certainly not the reason the Tories failed to win a majority.//

But they did win a majority !
No, they won a plurality. There is a difference. 318 seats is not a majority.

To be fair, the Electoral Commission has tended in its reports to write that, "The total number of cases of alleged electoral fraud reported is not an accurate reflection of the scale of electoral fraud in the UK." How you interpret that is subtle but, granted, without a proper control system over who votes then you can never be certain that fraud isn't happening. My own inclination is that (a) the overwhelming number of voters are, of course, honest at the ballot box, and (b) those people who do vote fraudulently would be lost in the noise if only more people turned out to vote in the first place.
Khandro, the only basis that anybody has for claiming this has happened so far as I can see is "people bragging on social media." And yet none of those brags are forthcoming or evident. What else do they have?

It is not "wishful thinking" to be skeptical about things that are unproven.
Voting Fraud, = there is at least two very well radicalized Tory supporters on the news section, that openly bragged about paying £3 to join the Labour Party to vote Corbyn as leader.
Woo! ! Woo! egg on face.

jim; The Conservatives won more seats than anyone else, so they have the majority of members of parliament, that's why they are the government!
As I say, the word you are looking for is "plurality". A "majority" would be 326 seats (and a working majority 322, owing to the speaker and his deputies, Sinn Fein, etc).

But then if the Tories won the election anyway, one wonders how you can even ask the question about whether fraud (by Labour voters) could have made a difference to the outcome in the first place.
A commons debate on the issue was thwarted recently by Labour MPs using up the available time allocated, in a fatuous discussion about parliamentary timetables. Their reluctance to debate the matter merely confirms their guilt. Anyone remember 2004 when Labour were guilty of the most egregious case of electoral fraud when police in Birmingham found candidates and supporters handling unsealed postal ballots in a warehouse two days before an election? Time for ID cards at poll booths, to prevent multiple voters and either a postal vote or a card. Not Both. I had a postal vote, because I was on duty as a poll clerk and not able to vote on the day. When I applied for my postal vote I was not required to send back my card, which could have been presented by an imposter in my absence. The poll register does indeed show that a person has received a postal vote, but requires an alert poll clerk to pick it up. Which can be difficult with a packed station and people in a hurry or a clerk prepared to turn a blind eye. That could never happen though.............could it?
I'm sure I read somewhere, but cant find where the votes per seat are for the last election , that around 20 seats weere lost by a matter of 400 votes across all of them. I this is the case I can see why the problem.

Also, why doent labour want to clean up the problem? Surely electoral fraud is not limited to one Party so it makes see to sort it out so people believe in the system?

As TTT points out the Tories only have themselves, or May, to blame for their position but electoral fraud does need to be investigated and stamped out.
