Interesting proposal. I wonder if existing "drug lords" would feel that they should then double and redouble their efforts to flog drugs in the US in order to recoup the extra expenses; and maybe put the price up too. Or perhaps the US should tackle separate issues separately rather than see drug busts as a useful income to fund public projects. Mind you, there's a point. Why not come to an agreement to simply limit the drug trade in return for just one bust every x years, that'd produce a regular income, encourage the trade, a win/win arrangement for both sides.

This is the Boss of the largest and most profitable drug smuggling cartel in the world by several orders of magnitude!
He is presently being sued for something like $18 Billion in compensation after being captured by a joint US/ Mexico police & military operation. The wall is estimated at $21 Billion so it will go a long way towards paying (if they ever get any cash off him that is!!!)
