I seem to recall that this case has raised a few hackles here on AB....this is the latest news.

Do you think their content was worth keeping?

I include my own removed reply in that question.
I've no idea, I didn't get to see them.
See my post @ 21.33.

My removed answer was a little TIC but not offensive.
One was rude.

One was claiming the one removed was to a particular poster - it wasn't.

One was mine pointed out it wasn't (as above).

That's those on the previous page.

Apologies to OP for my part in this digression.
If I give the impression that I take offence if I feel talked down to - then that is absolutely correct, and I think anyone would feel the same.

I am not saying that the attitude is aimed only at me - but I do see it from time to time, so I raised it as a point.
// PeterPedant, //I mean such an argument is rubbish isnt it ? //
Your argument is. You've missed the point completely.

nope I dont think I have actually

a jury is made up of a random selection who DON'T have experience of the things they are asked to decide - this is the intention or point of the jury system

in fact the defendant was tried by a military tribunal
and the jury ( members ) were servicemen
so they would have been aware of the conditions of service...

"Being the largest indigenous population doesn't give you title deeds"

OMG, here we go again.
Wrong thread?
Yes, Mamya, but I'm too tired to bother reposting it on the right one.
Ok.
andy-hughes, //But if you want to tell me - rough quote "You don't understand it, and I don't think you ever will ..." then that is not fine because that is patronising me by making the assumption that I am too stupid to grasp something that you understand, and therefore I am a lesser person than you//

Great example! Thank you. Had you actually thought about that rather than jumping immediately to your erroneous conclusions you would realise that the reason I don’t think you will ever understand is because time and again I’ve given you easily verifiable examples which you continue to ignore, preferring instead to offer counter-arguments that have no basis whatsoever in reality. You refuse to listen to people who do actually know more and that is why I think you will never understand. Therefore my point stands. Regardless of topic, your perception that people are talking down to you, etc., etc., is amply demonstrated by the regularity with which you accuse others of patronising you and talking down to you. You say you think anyone would feel the same. They wouldn’t and they don’t. Your attitude is at fault.
Well said, Naomi.
Thank you, jackdaw.
Someone had to say it. I have similar on another thread and was immediately zapped, so don't hold your breath.
No reason it should be zapped. It breaks no rules.
It's not merely a case of breaching AB rules, it's a case of breaching AH rules.
I do wish you would stop implying that without any factual evidence at all to back it up.
I'm guessing you didn't watch the programme then, andy?

Shame, it might have given you even more understanding of "the pressures and situation he was in from your detached point of view".

You can catch it on BBC iplayer, Plenty of time yet.
