I think they should hold it annually on St Nicola's day.

Nicola Sturgeon is never going to shut up about this, so let her have her referendum. She may well be shooting herself in the foot.

Terms need to be laid out clearly. I think Mrs May should say that independence would mean being 100% independent. No propping up by Westminster, nor would Westminster take any revenue from Scotland.
Would they generate enough revenue of their own to continue with the freebie prescriptions and university places?

The Scottish people also need to have answers to the questions that went unanswered last time, such as what would the currency be?
Why does she want it before Brexit? Why doesn't she wait to see what happens?
Talbot, saying someone cannot manage what others routinely do without there being any evidence available to support the contention is like saying blacks are inferior to whites (as some actually do) - in short: it is a baseless and out of hand opinion put forward as a dismissal of what clearly is at least an equally viable proposition. It amounts to bigotry/unsubstantiated bias.

I did not and do not "get off" on observing that bigotry exists, but I note with interest that you took my remark so keenly to heart whereas it was not aimed at anyone in particular, just that (as I said) such practice does not help those who indulge in it.
Can you name anyone who has said that Scots are inherently incompetent?
Talbot, please read the final paragraph of my post of 15.28 which refers to statements on AB and elsewhere claiming Scotland will/would not survive, becoming a failed state, and expressing similar sentiments, should it dare to choose independence from the UK - this I contend is saying Scots cannot do what others do quite successfully. In other words, Scots are doomed to fail where others succeed, also known as incompetence (other terms apply).

I haven't read that ... got a link?
People have said things will be tougher.

Has the political genius Nicola Sturgeon been bullied into this by Salmond?
'Sky sources' say she has.
The fact of Scotland surviving or not has nothing to do with the average Scots competence. The biggest problem they would have is that they have zero experience on the World stage and when added to the fact they would be starting from scratch with no credit record or confidence inthe markets for them would be extremely difficult to say the least. So it is nothing to do with incompetence simply the hard facts on how the World works.
For my money I would like to see the Scottish go. This continual whinning is dragging both countries down and needs to be sorted now before talks start or the EU will not know what they are negotiating on.

So an immediate referendum next month would be ideal. Perhaps include the English so Queen Nicola gets her way.
I think she has come too soon.

Not only do the pollsters (I know they've got them wrong a lot though lol) say the Scottish people don't want another referendum and surely she should wait for a good few years, perhaps five, post Brexit.

She doesn't know what dies her toast is buttered yet!

I still like Tracey Ullman's sketches of her though. A world dominated by Nicola Sturgeon and the whole world... bar England, as a united Scotland.
Nothing this woman says adds up, she says a majority of the Scottish voters, voted to 'remain' in the referendum, which is true (66% I think) but they were voting to remain in the EU as part of the UK, not to remain as a separate entity divorced from the UK, that would be the nightmare scenario for Scotland.

Perhaps we could help out our Nicola here. Instead of a referendum for "independence" lets have a UK one for Expulsion and put this to bed once and for all.

Aye, gid idea,
you'll just have to convince your MPs And westmonster that it's a good idea and they could set that up for you, If it is a vote winner I'm sure they would no probs.
