Oh that isn't the point Aog, the point is that they get their smug mugs and names in the papers again. All part of the gotta be in the movie syndrome.
delude inflated egos !
I notice that the article describes Sandi Toksvig as a comedian. She's about as funny as a raging toothache.
Is there an on-line petition to ask the same thing? If so I will sign it!
kind of like Sandi..good replacement for Fry on QI
Rather than stand on the sidelines and bump their gums about something, some people believe that they have an obligation to make a stand.
There are many more thousands of ordinary people who believe the same.....but they won't make the headlines.
You could have done that without feeling the need to announce it to the world though. But that is the point, it has to be accompanied with a virtue signalling display. Its all about me behaviour, and got to be in someone's face so that it means more, better to massage their egos.
Found the petition and signed it
Here is a link if anyone else wants to sign.

Thanks for drawing my attention to this travesty of justice AOG !
The currency of these "luvvies", as termed, is publicity and visibility. Why would you expect them not to use the tools available to them to say what they feel?

As usual the "right" seem very thin-skinned on this. So mortally wounded by the well known sharp tongue wit of Gary Lineker such that they have to do some mean spirited thrashing about. Sad.

That is one Petition we will not be signing.
"cor i think it's wrong you should state your opinion ed" is being typed right this moment.

It's a shame that the PM decided to scrap what seemed like the least we could do. She has a lot of clearing up to do after Cameron.
Thanks, Ed, for coming out of the political closet.
You don't know anything about my politics Jackdaw.

I can see your jackboots are polished nicely though.

It's very sad that the right has sunk into such moronic mooing, when they could be taking the real opportunities available to them right now.
When I was younger. Sports stars competed, Actors performed, Newsreaders read the news,nd singers sang, Now they are all multimillionaire moral arbiters out of touch with the majority of the population.

Dave.
Oops. I've made a boo-boo. Don't know now whether to sing the Horst Wessel Lied or The People's Flag.
Yeah, they're a nuisance, but you don't really have to listen to them.
Assumed it would be Giovinezza.
My disgust at "celebs" getting maximum publicity for their inexperienced views on specialist topics reached its nadir some years ago when David Beckham spouted forth pseudo-psychologically on the subject of child abuse. Gave a whole new meaning to "bend it like Beckham".
Tend to agree with Canary.
They have the right of free speech , I agree with their sentiments but if i wrote a letter to TM no one would know. However ". Celebrities" get the publicity ..
