I know Corbyn doesn't have many supporters of this mainly Tory AB, but I think he has got Mrs May on the run here.

If the Royal College of Nurses, the Royal College of Physicians, the BMA , and the Red Cross all say that we have a huge crisis, why won't she do something about the situation ?

She has so far refused to acknowledge that the Red Cross.are correct...is she in denial or is the NHS still safe in Tory hands ?

Togo...I have given you plenty of opportunity to say whether you agree with all the medical organisations or not but instead you waffle on. So I am left with the conclusion that you don't agree !
It amuses me when I see people complaining that Labour did nothing for the NHS! Do they not realise that if it was not for Labour in 1948 there would not be an NHS !!

Here's another person who is lying, along with all the others that I have mentioned today !

//Here's another person who is lying, along with all the others that I have mentioned today !//

From the article:-Ministers said NHS England had asked for £8bn and been allocated £10bn. But Mr Stevens told MPs that was to cover six years rather than the five-year plan he had put forward.

"I don't think that's the same as saying we are getting more than we asked for over five years."

So, he claims that the NHS hasn't got the £8billion over 5 years it asked for (£1.6 billion per year) because it has got £10billion over 6 years (£1.66 billion per year). Or, if it gets the requested £8 billion in 5 years it then gets £2 billion in year 6.

Not sure that I trust his judgement.
Having re-read my response I realise that I have not made my point clearly enough.

To justify his claim that they are not getting the additional funding he is moving all of the extra money into year 6.
//Do they not realise that if it was not for Labour in 1948 there would not be an NHS !!//

//The history of the NHS is that of an organisation established after a century's discussion on the provision of health services to meet a long recognised need.  It appeared at a time when Britain saw health care as crucial to one of the "five giants" that Beveridge declared should be slain during post-war reconstruction. (want, disease, squalor, ignorance, idleness) The cataclysm of war provided an opportunity that might not have been taken in quieter times. The NHS was noble in conception and has been faced on the one side with ever increasing costs as a result of advances in medical knowledge, medicines and technology, and on the other with the financial restrictions inevitable in a centrally funded service with changing management dogmas and political beliefs.  Whether knowing what we know now Britain would follow the same pathway towards a universal health care system is anyone's guess.//

You would be better served paying attention to a real course of events rather than a slavish devotion to a myth. Ignorance and idleness still stalk the land.
//In other words, is there anybody that says that the NHS and Social care is in a crisis that you WILL believe ?//

Here is someone who is believable with regard to the NHS. It was published at the time of the 2015 election (but is still relevant) in a publication that I know you respect and trust and it has the added advantage of offering some explanations as to why the NHS has ongoing problems.

I posted this article on another thread to which you were contributing but you did not respond then for some reason so I post it again for your consideration and comment.

Perhaps you could read the article and say whether or not you accept any of the claims that the NHS problems can, to a significant degree, be traced back to Labour's actions when in power. (I am referring specifically to the estimated additional strain on A&E caused by the alteration to GP's contracts as well as the on-going cost of poorly negotiated PFI contracts which is eating up resources which could be better spent on front line patient care.)
Oldred, I wanted to post something similar, but am not as articulate as you. So well said. This whole crisis, in my opinion, stems from 2004 and those Labour Government contracts
Thanks NellieMay - (Just between you and me,- I'm not expecting BA)
Oldred, I've said something similar in the past - and I didn't get 'Best Answer' either.
mikey; //Jeremy Corbyn Claims Theresa May In Denial On Nhs//
If anyone is in denial it isn't Corbyn or May, it is the entire British public; the NHS simply doesn't work anymore, it seems so attractive to the British public because they think it is "free" which it isn't at all.
It should be scrapped and be replaced by something better as happens in other countries.

There are none so blind .. ..... ... .... ... ...
Naomi, - There's no justice!

I appreciate that it I introduced a bit of humour into the thread but I think this subject is too serious for that.

Let's just wait for Mikey's response to serious points.
If the present shower that Mother Theresa is in charge of, can not sort the
chaos on the railways, and the NHS , then god help us when she tries her hand at Brexit.
Mikey
// She sought to bring shame and ridicule on an organisation that has chosen to speak out, and others have followed//
I think she objected to the phrase 'humanitarian disaster' Biafra was such a thing the NHS is not.
Oldred, //Let's just wait for Mikey's response to serious points. //

You could be waiting a long time.

Danny at 10.04, quite right.
It all becomes clear when you realize who has just been appointed as the grandly titled "Director of Media" at the Red Cross,(did you realize that they needed one?),  step forward....Polly Curtis. The very same Polly Curtis who is an ex Guardian , "Whitehall correspondent" reporter, covering health, social affairs and education. Fond of twitter posting, and writes the blog Reality Check (cheque?). There's your left wing spin, another charity to cross off the list of worthy recipients.
Come on Mikey - reply to Oldred!
Mikey thinks Corbyyn has Mrs May on the run but it seems far more likely to me that Oldred has Mikey on the run!! He's certainly gone quiet!
