I think many of us, on both sides of the divide understood that the decision of the referendum would need to be ratified by parliament before it could be implemented. I certainly did. In fact, all we were ever promised was a referendum.....not a binding referendum, nor one with a timescale for implementation.

How can you call people who've had the intelligence to realise and challenge the legal standing of the referendum and have that challenge upheld 'trouble makers'?
And us remoaners get blamed for sour grapes. Sheesh.
How can you not when the people have spoken and the aim is simply to overturn their will ? Hardly surprising then that some remainers are accused of sour grapes.

'Their will' isn't worth a croc of sh#*. That's been proven by the ruling. Not sure why you can't get your head around that.
They have it wrong anyway, if there was a further referendum it must be "you accept the deal as it is or you vote to just get out and trade with the rest of the world as intended"

Their will is paramount importance. You are mistaking it's value with the fact that it wasn't legally binding. It wasn't legally forced to be rejected either; and a democratic parliament is morally obliged to enact it or it can not claim to be democratic. I'm certain, judging from your past post record, that you can get your head around that, but in my opinion you choose not to admit it.

'You are mistaking it's value with the fact that it wasn't legally binding.'.
The legal ruling proves it has no value. Again...what don't you understand about that?
Morals don't come into it, they're a red herring.
ZM, what don't you understand about Brexit means Brexit.
ZM, Britain is leaving - tough titty!
Eddie; 09:41 - you may have something there but believe me if they welch on this the poll tax riots will look like 5 year olds tea party.
//the poll tax riots will look like 5 year olds tea party. //

unlikely. those that voted brexit are not of the same mindset of the anti-thatcherite proto-militia that "demonstrated" against the poll tax. more likely brexiteers will raise their level of disapproval to "miffed".
What would people hope to achieve by rioting in that event, though, TTT?
no rhymme or reason jim they'd just be mightily pi553d off having being cheated out of the result.

I have never claimed that Brexit will not succeed. I'd be stupid to do that when the situation is so complex and the outcome of an appeal is pending. The whole point of my post is to point out the unholy mess we're in due to our esteemed leaders (and a large proportion of voters) didn't fully understand the complexities of making it happen.
Nothing, Jim ... but it's a start, maybe.
Touché, Talbot... :)

Tim Farron talked about the great void that his party could fill, at Conference - the centre ground.

His actions could only fill a playground..
From Zacs-Master at 10:38, 'Their [the people's] will' isn't worth a croc of sh#*.

Says it all.
dannyk You have just proved my point !
There is NO POSSIBLE REASON for May to go to the Supreme court it can only be a time wasting tactic, all part of the 'set up' so that she can say she has tried her best and failed !
TTT there will not be riots, those who feel as strongly as you are in a tiny minority. 99.9 % will just shrug their shoulders and carry on.

Thanks Naomi, I'm glad you agree.
Eddie, you're very keen on conspiracy theories, aren't you.
Zacs-Master, I do agree. That's exactly what Remainers think.
