"Police investigating the reported abduction of a child in Surrey have arrested a man on suspicion of perverting the course of justice"

Only two days ago the Police were saying that their witness was a "credible source"

So I wonder who they have arrested ?

Which child Lynne-?

The one that was never abducted in the first place?
Apologies - I spelled your name as I spell mine out of habit.

Lynn
@Aneurin Bevan: They're saying he's 'insane?' That's the term they're now using whenever there's an 'Allah Akbar' attack. It'll be 'nothing to do with Islam'
What a waste of police time - still encouraging argument for the continued use of CCTV and databases of our info.
@Mamyalynne:

A child HASN'T been abducted? I was talking about this one (see original question)

"Police investigating the reported abduction of a child in Surrey have arrested a man on suspicion of perverting the course of justice"

You'll get your name spelt wrong all of the time as I do. You'll know how annoying it is
I'm beginning to think there are two threads running at once here - until some of these wild claims are substantiated I'll leave it.

Ta for the link Motley.
It was your 'Culturally enriched', then other references that followed that have me totally bemused Lynn.

As long as you know what you refer to it's not my place to meddle.
'Perverting the course of justice?' Wasting police time, surely?
Question Author
Yes...thanks for the link Motley, although it was as I suspected.

Not sure why the Police can't just have admitted that in the first place....after all, who else was it going to be ?
// On the lack of information, I don't think there is anything more that can be added.// AOG

that's not like you, AOG !

yeah I think people have noticed ( attempted ) perversion of the course of justice and not wasting police time.

and we could inquire what course of justice would be perverted if there were a non-crime reported ?

I think we should ask a p'liceman ....

Oh yeah and since we dont have a terrorist thread this am
you know that criminology centre that someone drove into and set on fire ?
actually they drove at it and burnt down the bogs

a spokesman for the police of the federal zone of Brussels commented
"we have no idea who did this: we dont have anything to go on."

ter daaa
yup it is Billy Liar apparently
and they are going for pervering the course of justics

Yep, we need mikey to be clearer on how his rules work.
I think it is something like ... I can change the topic but if another poster tries it they will be told to burger off and start another thread.
Question Author
Talbot...I am not aware that I have done anything wrong on this thread....I certainly haven't changed the subject !
3 posts on previous page from you on a totally unrelated subject.

We need clarity if you want us to follow your rules.
Question Author
Talbot...all my posts on the first page of this thread are entirely relevant to the subject under discussion, so I am none the wiser about what your beef is ?
How is the Rotherham scandal in anyway relevant to a story of a Walter Mitty?
That's what threw me and then Lynn came in with 'culturally enriched' etc - I actually thought I'd clicked on a different thread altogether.
Question Author
Entirely Talbot.....my point was that the Police appeared to be taking this non-abduction seriously, but declined to take any of the reports of abuse in Rotherham at all seriously.

I was arguing for some consistency in the Police approach.
Seems like all good all round police work to me
