ag, haha! Possibly.
Female Police Officers are obliged to wear some form of headwear as part of their uniforms and always have been.

This is simply a variation on the traditional look.
Bit ironic really when cautioning folk and advising them of their rights

What a wonderfully enlightened view you have of the modern world!

Islam and the rights of women!
AG - //Islam and the rights of women! //

I'm not sure that western perception of the rights of Muslim women and advising UK citizens of their rights under the law are incompatible.
Andy - to use an analogy on the other thread and the issue of provoking jihadists,do you consider that seeing these Muslim police officers in their attire will possibly provoke and cause resentment on some Scottish streets and thus have the opposite effect of giving the public greater confidence?

I don't - but if I did, it would not be a reason to prevent their issue.

In mu view, 'pandering to the natives ...' is as negative an approach as is 'pandering to the ethnics ...'.

The idea is to provide an acceptance of other cultures, not pretending they don't exist.

It is a thought - care to explain what it means?

Early days yet AH,
Would you ask a Jewish woman to remove her wig?
Why would these Muslim police officers in their attire cause any additional resentment on Scottish streets than that caused by the presence of more 'traditionally' attired police officers?
THEMOTLEY1 - //Early days yet AH, //

That's a little cryptic for me - do you see a conspiracy theory here - the notion that Islam is infiltrating the police force?
> the easiest way to destroy any organisation is from the inside .

Motley, yes, the police force isn't what it was...
