I was listening to the news report, 30million images is quite breathtaking, I really don't envy the officers who have had to wade through them all. Getting up in the morning to go to work must be very tough for them.

I agree eccles....and this may only the tip of the iceberg.
I would say getting up in the morning to catch and put the scum away must be very satisfying.

Instead of persuing dead people we should put all coppers possible on catching the currently active vermin.
I was just about to put what EcclesCake has already said.

What a unenviable job they have, but if it helps to identify and convict these monsters, a job well done.
An awful job for anyone to do.
I remember my best man and mentor was assigned, with a sergeant to obtain warrants and raid all the 'dirty book' shops in Paddington Green's area.
They were actually looking for under the counter 8mm porn films which were confiscated. They were locked in a room all day for weeks watching these films to ensure they contravened the Obscene Publications Laws and arrest warrants could be served on the vendors.
These porn films consisted of consenting adults. The horrors that officers must watch of indecent child porn where the innocence is stolen from them just does not bear thinking about.
P.S. The aforementioned Sergeant developed problems with regard to the intimacy he enjoyed with his wife prior to screening these films and underwent long remedial treatment in psychie clinics.
