…after a suicide bombing on Tuesday that killed six soldiers. The Jordanian government said no new refugee camps would be built and none would be expanded. "Any vehicle and personnel movement within these areas that move without prior co-ordination will be treated as enemy targets and dealt with firmly and without leniency," an army statement said. The order went into effect immediately.

Sensibly looking after their own.
Reluctantly I say looking after their own.
Jordan a pop of 12 m about
and there are 4 m refugees

20% of the population are therefore refugees

I cn imagine that the king ( Abdullah the Blessed I think ) would lose his sense of humour over a refugee thinking - I know I will blow up a police station - that's the thing to do !
I can understand why they are doing it.
We might have to do the same if we vote to Leave as I don't think France will continue to help as much at Calais
Let them come to Europe they can stop off at Calais
Seems an easy answer and an over-reaction to me. Are their military incapable of having sufficient security to identify and keep suicide bombers at bay ? Other armies managed to operate under those conditions.
Something our own virtue signallers should think about. (perhaps)
Jordan is a small country, 9.5 million population. It is now home to 1.4 million refugees. That makes 1 in 6 of the population a refugee.

So closing the border now, is definitely locking the stable door after the horse has bolted.

It is an understandable gesture after the 6 soldiers were killed, but a futile one. The border isn't really closeable, the refugees will still come.

I dont think it is the refugees they are rejecting

but the idea that one of them has abused the arab duty of hospitality in order to kill their hosts ....

Sensibly looking after their own - but yet another escalation of tension. :)
