Curiouser and curiouser. There appears to more to this than at first met the eye.

By the way, surprised to see our local BHS open last Friday and doing a roaring trade.....perhaps those 11,000 jobs might be saved after all.

I think your local BHS was doing a roaring trade because everything was being sold off Mikey, so prices were low. Also a last chance for lovers of BHS goods to get some before the finally close down.

Alas, you may be right bhg.
Bbh is right...there's a massive sale on. Pity, I quite liked BHS.
Was it a Green cliff, I wonder?
Question Author
Sandy....if he can be dragged, kicking and screaming in front of that Commons Select Committee, Mr Green may very well have something interesting to tell....about he asset-stripped a company that was in serious difficulties, just before he sold for £1.

I don't disagree with the sentiment - just the metaphor.

It's pretty difficult to crash a bus into a cliff. Off of a cliff, yes, but not into one.

;-)

Yes, a clumsy use of words but I think we can all see he is coming from.
Good afternoon all

Respectfully sp1814, it could be possible to crash a bus into a cliff, if the cliff was rising from the road as in this picture

It would also be possible if the bus was base jumping!
helmsman

Well played Sir, well played.
That picture did nothing for my vertigo, helmsman!
Where was the photo taken please helmsman?
My aunt spends all her money following Cliff Richards. If he ever tries to walk on the Pontypool to Blaenavon road....
I did say Green was tax-evading, asset stripper, on here 3 years ago but nobody seemed to agree then.
I thought it might be flown into a cliff...

anyway it wasnt a bus crash but a bhs crash

and yup I quite liked the metaphor. Go to West Bay or replay Broadchurch - one of the bits when David Tennant was doing his stuff in front of the Bridport Sands - and you can imagine a bus crashing into a cliff without any problem at all.

Good for him. Will it become BHS Direct?
Question Author
Tony.......yet another CEO that awaiting his call to be dragged into the same Committee !
I know, mikey. You couldn't make it up could you.
I thought you were supposed to "fall" off your super yacht before the pension black hole was discovered. (with apologies to Kelvin MaKenzie)
