that's terribly sad, one of the great British talents. I saw her just the once in a pub in King's Cross, on a double bill with the Great Soprendo ("very big in the Canaries"). Wonderful evening.
I'm shocked to have come in & seen this news. A real comedy genius, gone far too soon :-(

RIP Victoria.
Very few 'funny' people make me laugh...actually she is the only one that I can think of. She was absolutely hilarious. How sad. But yes a week or two of repeats... regularly please. I don't think I have ever heard a talent like hers and do not expect to again.
I'm truly shocked, too. Brilliant, talented and funny. RIP :(
So, so sad about this. My all time favourite. From Acorn Antiques (Celia Imrie on the 'phone) - "Well it does sound like a genuine Picasso, but I'd have to see it to be sure."

My favourite from Acorn Antiques was Mrs Overall's line:

What was is museli?

What was it, muesli?

Just re-read that - you'd really have to see it, rather than read it!
How sad. That is a shock. She was a funny lady.
I remember my sister and I leaving damp patches on the carpet watching the "Two Soups" sketch. So funny. We were young so it's not too shameful to admit. We could start each other off again just by saying "Two soups" for years afterwards.
RIP Victoria.

Thank you, tonyav.
RIP, Victoria Wood. xx
Two soups?

(indeed a very sad loss)
Wonderfully appropriate song played on The One Show tonight, apologies if it has already been posted elsewhere.

I loved the line in Dinnerladies between Tony & Bren.

Tony: are you pregnant Bren

Bren: no, not unless sperm can get through a sash window..

Loved her comedy. I saw her one woman show at the Royal Albert Hall l
it had to be a sash window. That was part of her secret, the extra little detail.
You never see much of her ex-husband these days either: Geoffrey Durham, the magician.
R.I. P Victoria. Loved Acorn antiques and Dinner ladies
Shocking news. Loved her. No more hysterical laughing at her shows now - what a shame. RIP Victoria xxx
Yes a very funny and talented lady, and sorely missed not only from the world of entertainment but also by the general public.

R.I.P Victoria.
