what don't tell me there's a yuman rites case even you think is wrong mikey? I need a lie down!
Can't believe what, Mikey?
Question Author
That this mass murderer has one, even part of his case.
He killed 77 people !
mikey, let me explain, ummm is going through this obtuse belligerent phase, she did the same on my thread earlier when it was obvious what was meant. Probably trying to give up smoking.
Question Author
TTT...I deal with Naomi on a daily basis, so I am quite used to obtuse (!)
For those who havent read it, a judge has ruled that he does have the right not to have the same food 2 days running and he should not have to use plastic cutlery. As someone said in the Daily Mail article comments, he should try flying with BA!
Question Author
As I recall, the main reason why Breivik was kept in solitary confinement was that as a mass murderer, he was considered to be a severe threat to other prisoners and the jail staff.

Its also why he was strip searched so often, something the poor thing objected to apparently !
Question Author
What idiot would give this man a metal knife and fork ?

I don't think he should have been locked up in the first place.

He should never have lived that long!
same food 2 days running? F_F_S he should be doing the Saddam shuffle!
just goes to show, if you are going to run amok with a gun, do it in Norway. Is there such a thing as being too civilised? This guy will be out in less than 10 and walking the streets.
Have you seen a typical flowery Dell? They're like a kin Permier Inn! Words fail me.
I don't suppose that when they 'facilitate a community' that group will include Big Sven The Baldy Nazi Eating Cannibal.
///Words fail me. ///

Don't tease us like that........

Distasteful as it is, there are certain (european) standards in which prisoners should be kept; any deviation from that will give an opportunity for a Human Rights case to arise.
Question Author
I still fail to see that preventing him from injuring other prisoners and staff, as well as himself, could be described as an infraction on his human rights....what about the rights of everybody else ?

I don't suppose he thought a great deal about the human rights of the 77 innocent people he killed.

Anyway, if he does mix with other prisoners, he stands a great risk of being injured or killed himself..... or maybe that is what he craves ?
Question Author
While not excusing his actions in any way, his previous life may account for his twisted personality. His WIKI entry make for fascinating reading ::::

Mikey, //I deal with Naomi on a daily basis, so I am quite used to obtuse (!)//

I'm sure you know that I may be many things - but 'obtuse' isn't one of them. ;o)
The only bit I do not think can be justified is the waking him up every 1/2 hour. That looks very close to sleep deprivation which is a form of torture.
The point is that no one, no matter what they have done can be denied basic human rights in a civilized society.
I can see nothing about the same food 2 days running or plastic cutlery as mentioned by grasscarp. In fact the link says he has access to 3 cells and can cook his own food !
Maybe the article has been updated but I concur that the sleep deprecation seems to be the main issue here. Whatever the gaolers would like to do with him the higher moral example that must be shown by any reasonable authority was not maintained and gave him a change to contest his treatment; and the inevitable occurred. He is being kept out of society for the safety of society, and deprived of contact for his own safety. The gaolers need just ensure this continues and then there is no issue.

I'm unsure what, if anything, he has been awarded. Presumably simply a cessation of what was considered inhuman or degrading treatment.
... a chance...
as I 2£$%*(%£*£$%(%^$ typed !!!!!
