^ or would ...even.
Islay, It isn't about you. It's about the detrimental effect the inability to communicate efficiently has on our children's education.

Yes, it should be banned.
Naomi, I was asked a question - I answered

I will go further - I don't think it will impact on the children either.

Is that OK with you now?
Islay - //I will go further - I don't think it will impact on the children either. //

I have to disagree.

Children learn to communicate at school, by learning what facial expressions mean, from their teachers, and from each other.

If you remove that essential aspect of non-verbal communication from children, their development will suffer. That is a simple fact.

It would not affect you or I - as adults our ability to discern is far more developed and sophisticated - but we are not children.
Islay, // Is that OK with you now? //

Failing to give our children the best education we can might satisfy you but it will never be ok with me.

Yes they should.
islay, I would suggest that if you like wearing or you like being with others who wear the veil you go from this country where we practice freedom of dress to one of the countries where the norm is you will wear what we tell you to wear.
Naomi24, I completely agree, as will many others, with your answer to Islam at 1523.
Thank you.
That's funny Ron. You actually want to remove that freedom.
Islay, you are in the minority and you are wrong !! When my son starts school, I don't want him surrounded by people he cannot see properly, that is not our culture .....
I would prefer pupils and teachers to be comfortable in all aspects of education - therefore if it can be proven that a school is failing to teach because of a particular reason (be it a mode or dress or any other reason) then Ofsted should mark them accordingly.
@viv41 thank you for telling me that my opinion is wrong.

Yes they should
It's the 21st century what message are we sending our young women.
Yes
Viv is not the only one that's wrong, if your child want's that sort of Tuition I'm sure there are schools elsewhere to fit your needs. why should children be intimidated by these masks, it's the teacher's face they want to see, & peole talk about Integration! We Do, I gather you have intention of doing so.
NO Intention of doing so.
You are very welcome Islay.

TWR, I agree!
Yes. I remember the shock I felt when I opened the staffroom door after someone knocked on it and found myself confronted by a figure in a burkha. After a bit of probing (verbal) I identified the wearer as a mild-mannered girl whom I had taught for several years. My '"Why?" brought the response that now that she was in6th form she was not bound by uniform rules. I was very saddened, but there was no official response in those days - apart from my own arguments, which cut no ice. :(
Yes
