And if you think all those truth-twisting doctors and lobbyists who've made a, highly paid, career out of anti-smoking will be happy when no-one smokes, they won't. They'll be after someone else's freedoms and next time it might be yours. (if you drink for example)

chrissa1 a house that has been lived in by smokers will smell of stale smoke for ever after, it will seriously reduce the sale price

It is virtually universal now that an agreement to rent a house or flat has a 'no smoking' clause in it! No one wants to rent a property that has previously housed a smoker.

No chrissa, wrong on many levels, yes we endured through the dark years of smoker selfishness and yes it was considered normal but slowly as the majority crossed from one side to the other we have fought back and we have arrived at a state where it’s now unimaginable that smoking was ever allowed indoors. The smokers themselves now whine like the criminal at the gallows that they would have accepted non smoking rooms, twaddle they never did when they had the chance, their selfishness prevailed, even their own children were gassed at will. They resisted every chance to put their own house in order. They made it necessary for civilised society to do it for them. So I make no apology to wanting to this filth out of our lives

I can't remember how long ago it was that I last saw a rental offer that did not specify 'no smoking'
My son has had 3 rental flats in the last 5 years and they all specify 'no smoking', if the landlord finds evidence of smoking they will require a full redecoration and new furniture / carpets paid for by the tenant.
