Andy, you're a very vociferous and opinionated person. So much so that you often have to issue apologies. Yet if you feel transgressed against, you don your moderator cap and threaten people. Imo, you should either moderate your own behaviour or stop issuing threats to others.(or better still, both)

Blimey

Just read my post of 17:23.

I can only barely make sense of it, and I bloody well wrote it.

Good luck on deciphering what I mean.
/because I got out of hospital today and am on a shedload of painkillers./

sp

have you had that chip surgically removed from your shoulder?

(this is a proxy post on behalf of other ABers who have had to go in for their tea)

seriously, get well soon x
Sp, svejk accuses me of things I don't say, too. Don't take it personally x
you obviously weren't listening, pixie. He said not to cast aspersions without the proof to back it up.
You did say it, sp. It's not the sort of thing one makes up and ascribes to another.
sorry, can't see my name on that page. and I've no intention of wading through 20 pages.
Cheers Zeuhl

Yep...I went in for a shoulderchipendectomy, but the machine broke when trying to remove it.

I have to go back in, in two weeks after they bring in an industrial-sized one from America.
Not a problem, svejk. You asked for proof- it's there if anyone wants it.
Where?
Svejk

I absolutely do not think you are making it up. The phrase is too specific for you to have made it up.

I just don't think it came from me.

I believe your mistaken.

Let's treat this like a court of law - I am innocent until proven guilty.

Right now, I did not say that phrase.

It's up to you to prove I did.

If you are unable to, then I am henceforth completely innocent.
Cheers pixie373

As I said earlier - I'm sure that I've got things wrong in the past and ascribed posts to the wrong people. It's not a big deal, as long as everyone on the News section remembers that no-one had perfect recall.

If I said it, I said it - no biggie.

But if I didn't say it, then it should be acknowledged.

Put it this way, if I found the thread where that particularly odious remark was said, and could prove it wasn't me, I would feel no sense of victory. All I would feel is, "Thank God we can put that to bed and move on".

...but that's probably because my politics are 'left of centre' and as everyone knows - we're the best people.
Well exactly. It's one thing people disagreeing with you. It's another people disagreeing with you for something you don't think.
"As an aside, all the mods seem to be of the wishy-washy, liberal, muesli-munching persuasion"

Oi pie face!

You take that back!
Ha!
Plaque on Lawrence and one statue/sculpture/memorial honouring folk murdered or seriously injured by terrorists. Is there a memorial for 7-7 victims in Tavistock Square?

PiperH - "Does Ed have the ability to remove best answer? If so I suggest he may want to use it on this one."

He does Piper, as do any of the Moderators.

l'd suggest that the Ed will leave it because freedom of speech is the essence of the site.

Another Moderator may well take exception to it - as have I - but it remains to be seen if they exercise their right to remove it or not.

If no-one does, I would hope that AOG will take the comments on board, and may think a little more carefully next time.
AOG can still remove it.
It's the most pathetic use of best answer I have seen on this site.
Best 'Best Answer' IMO !

If anyone else had posted this 'Q' then I suspect the following posts not have been quite so vociferous.

Why should the 'Best Answer' be removed? Sometimes in life we all agree to disagree...why should it be any different on AB?

I.likely along with other lurkers. tend to avoid AB as it often becomes either a one man show or a personal nit-picking attack, sometimes it doesn't make for pleasant reading albeit in a debating format.

I agree there should be a a memorial of sorts to signify any heinous attack which has impacted on our right to live our lives in a democratic country.

Of course AOG should remove this Best Answer....it is childish beyond belief..... and belittles any views he holds.

If you ask a question you should give the best "answer" to the question you asked.... not to someone toadying up to your petty grievances with another member.

Otherwise it makes a mockery of the best answer option.

Do you know the answer?

Should There Be A Lasting Memorial For Murdered Lee Rigby, Such As The One That Was Placed For Stephen Lawrence, A Few Miles Away In Eltham?
