For fear of bringing out the 'bash Judy Finnegan' brigade, here is my view, what do you think.
Firstly, all rape is the same, it must be a terrible thing to go through, but was Evans really guilty of rape?
Two young people, meet in a club/pub, have far too much to drink, the female freely goes back to a hotel with the male, they have intercourse, the next day she wakes and realises that fact, she reports it, Evans is arrested and charged with rape!
In my view he didn't rape her, if he is guilty of rape then she is guilty of going back to a strangers hotel, into the unknown, what did she think they were going back for, to talk about football!!
Guilty of taking advantage of her perhaps, but rape!!
If that is the case then hundreds of men and women tonight will be in the same situation, police stations will be full tonight and the local courts will be overun on Monday morning.
I do believe that he should be allowed to go back to his trade, playing football, but because of the hype in the media that will be difficult.
Not guilty of rape, imo.

The judge and jury decided that he was guilty. He may have appealed and the Appeal Court didn't see anything to disagree with in the original verdict.
He's guilty.
It's clear from your post that you don't know the facts of the case, until you do, any further discussion is pointless!
no disrespect but I don't think your view matters . he was convicted and served his time.
"...if he is guilty of rape, then she is guilty of going back to a strangers hotel..."... And since when is that a crime? Bad judgement maybe...but it still does not excuse his and his mates behaviour... whether there are 'degrees' of rape or not. Those men did wrong.
You have to be joking!! Please someone say he's joking....
'' he's joking ''
Quite a few of us were discussing this last night, Saintpeter.....we wondered whether those who see nothing wrong in his behaviour do so because they have behaved in this way or would happily behave in this way.....and see nothing wrong in it.

The chaps in our group are a decent lot so we couldn't get a view from someone who thinks he did no wrong....

I have asked a male aber but he declined to reply...are you able to answer my question and end our wondering?

She didn't go back to the hotel with him. Have you read anything beyond the headlines?

He appears to be a Convicted, Time Served Rapist!
Footballers, they are gods ( They Think) they can do no wrong, They think>
And he still thinks he did no wrong. He's still protesting his innocence. I can't see how he got an early release on parole when he's not accepting his guilt nor showing any contrition.
Hi saint Peter, it's rape isn't it. She wasn't in control to properly give a yes. Very silly girl though.

The footballer that she did go to the hotel with was found not guilty of rape.
Tacky scenario hc!
// If that is the case then hundreds of men [and women] tonight will be in the same situation, police stations will be full tonight and the local courts will be overun on Monday morning. //

well where are they then ?

He was convicted and the conviction upheld on appeal
and he agrees with you - refused to accept guilt AND was let out early

.... and unlike others I think you are entitled to your views
even tho I dont necessarily agree.

being drunk isnt a defence to many things
just in case readers think it is
Don't I know it. ^
Rape is defined as sex where one party doesn't consent. A drunken woman beyond all consciousness is incapable of consent. Therefore it was rape, and Ched Evans was guilty of it. There is no room for opinion on whether or not he was guilty -- by legal definition he was. Fin.
How can you form a view on something, when you don't know the facts?
