Has anyone here in AB actually seen one? I haven't because I wouldn't want to see such ghastly acts or hear the 'justification' spewed out before it happened.

Mikey I seriously doubt anyone on here found Scrivens remark offensive. By going on and on about it you are making it an issue instead of just ignoring what was a crass sarcastic throwaway remark intended to provoke.

The answer "yes" is honest. The "perfectly natural" beggars belief!

Some will watch the videos. Other people like to read about all the gory details of an extra-marital affair in Chat magazine or want to view the kitchen/bedroom/bathroom of a 'star' in Hello magazine.
Curiosity takes many forms, some more baffling than others.
ok scrivens explain what you meant by this then:
"Yes. it's only a beheading. Perfectly natural. "

Oh God !....
Can anyone tell me why not just the families of the victims attend executions in the US?

Mikey, like a Dog with a Bone, get over it!
My question was a challenge to some of the others Scrivens but thanks anyway!

I'm still curious about sandyRoe's OP too.......
Why would anyone want to watch one? Apart from the fact that it`s very disturbing to watch, there is the risk that one could become desensitised to the horror of it and that`s not a good thing.
Chili...are you confusing an execution ordained by a court of law, and a murder ? We have become used to the word "execution" to mean capital punishment. IS are just murdering people. I am not a supporter of the death penalty but at least it has some basis in law. Who is sanctioning these murders by IS ?
I have Baldric. Is that OK now ?

Not in the slightest. I'm asking why do the media need to attend such an event and watch the death of another person and fill column inches with every detail of it.

Does my question really betray a morbid fascination? I wouldn't have thought so. These videos are pieces of political theatre in the Grand Guignol style. I don't want to see, or hear, their message
Chili...I am not sure if the public were allowed to attend executions here in Britain in modern times but America is a very different society to ours. Capital Punishment is, on the whole, popular over the pond, just as gun ownership and membership of weird religions !
