'' poond '' . you're making up words again mikey :)
I think in the future we will look back on the arguments and think
DId people really wish to break up the Union because of 3/6 extra a week for no more than 5 y ?

The pensioners for example now they know their pensions are gonna be guaranteed by the UK can vote 'with their hearts on behalf of the young people's futures' ....I very nearly threw up at that
nay its the poond Arnie
Mikey, constantly using the cod-word, 'poond' just makes you sound as silly as other southerners who imagine Scots are forever saying things like, "Hoots, mon, och aye the noo" or "It's a braw, bricht, moonlicht nicht the nicht." It was great for Harry Lauder...made him a fortune from such people as yourself!
No Scot has ever said 'poond' in reference to the pound sterling. 'Poun', that is with the final 'd' removed, is common enough, however, so give that a go for a change.

I have a friend in Monifieth who surprised me this week by saying that he had already voted by post, for YES. This person and I have had regular discussions over the years about devolution and he has always been against the setting up of the Scottish Parliament and the Welsh Assembly Government. He is famous in fact, for describing it all as complete waste of time and money.

So, when I asked him why he had had a change of heart, he replied that he had voted YES for his two sons, who are in their 30's. My friend is well-known for being extremely close to his money. His meanness was legendary in the company that we both worked for. He didn't know what currency he would be using in the future ( does anyone ? ) and I said that his money may not be worth as much in the future, if it has to be changed into Scottish currency.

There was an audible intake of breath at this point and he then admitted that he hadn't thought of that. The economy of any country is of the utmost importance, and Scotland is no different. So, by the meagre evidence of this chap, it would seem that the heart is leading the head.

But I have every confidence that in the end it will be the same answer as it always is when any voting takes place...is the economy stupid !

Careful Ludwig...you will annoy the Scots by not being serious !
I never miss an opportunity to try and wind QM up, but he knows it's only friendly banter.
Oh dear, I thought my offering was pretty light-hearted. Had it not been, I would have been writing things like, "Aw for x sake, you X, stop X boring all of us with this X 'poond' X!
Nivver ane, Ludwig, 'ere's mony a bonnie nicht tae be seen in Scotland, A wite!
Given your approach to the whole 'Yes/No'[i] thing on a virtually daily basis, Mikey, I'd say you have little reason to criticise anyone who says anything just semi-serious about it.
I think you are right mikey about the heart leading the head, just from a news report last night they were saying that so many are going back and forth and will wait until the last minute before deciding where to put their X.

It is such a shame personally i think we should be MORE united not less but I can see the point of view that says we want to stand by ourselves and make our own way in the world.

One point I hadn't though of before occurred to me after that news report saying that we had been united for 300 odd years but actually we had been separate for a good couple of 1000 before that so really the status quo is with the Yes vote :-)

I hope it works out for them whichever way it goes
