We often hear it said that if an adult man has sexual relations with under-aged boys they are not homosexuals but paedophiles.

Does the same apply in cases such as this, is this woman not a Lesbian (as the Mail has described her) but is in actual fact a paedophile?

Paedophile properly relates to someone who finds pre pubescent children sexually attractive not 15 year olds ( and I'd say that if it were a man and girl as well), so no not a paedophile.

AOG - it has been said many times. Before you label someone a paedophile look at their age and if the likely hood is that the victim has gone through puberty then the perpetrator is not a paedophile...

Strictly speaking ephebophilia refers to young men, although in ancient Greece an 'ephebe' was a young man aged 18 - 20, so no crime there.

Thanks jack, for yet another new word to add to my AB Lexicon ! It appears that this rather stupid Teacher isn't a paedophile after all, although the exact definition isn't important here. She was in a position of truth, which she disregarded.

This teacher took advantage of a child past puberty, but still in her care. Very wrong of her, but she is not a paedophile.

This is about abuse of a position of trust, not paedophilia.
And she will be on the sex offenders register for ten years. Surely this shows the offence was sexual in nature ( sexual abuse of a minor), not just abuse of trust.
