There was an ad agency in Singapore called Euro-Balls. They had a banner up over a bridge - 'Singapore needs Balls', that went down well, so to speak.

Like it. Very cheeky headline I thought.
Say what you like about EB, but he is a politician who can laugh at himself: he was once asked if people made fun of him at school because of his name, and he said no, but the same could not be said of his sister Ophelia ...
Poor man, being saddled with his surname. I worked with a Mr Trollope, whose family made sweets in Swansea. I always felt sorry for his daughter.
He's saddled with more than that. Several times in the Commons he repeatedly and stridently asserted that he had absolutely no idea that the Libor rate was being fixed right under his nose!

If he was telling the truth then he, on behalf of the then New Labour treasury was admitting to monumental incompetence, negligence and complacency.

If he was lying then he was as corrupt as the bankers.

I guess he made the choice of incompetence, negligence and complacency thinking somehow that the electorate might still believe he could still be fit to be the next Chancellor of the Exchequer!

Good luck with that Ed!
