This is a truly horrific story...because a) it seems so random, and b) the victim will carry the scars for the rest of her life - every time she looks in the mirror, she'll be reminded of the attack.

It's weird though...why on earth would three men attack a random stranger? It makes no sense.

It's the fact that there were three attackers. It just doesn't sound 'right', if you know what I mean. Not saying that the victim was in any way deserving...but it would make sense if it were some kind of revenge attack - where she'd split with a boyfriend who then got his mates to attack her.

Hopefully she will make a full recovery. She had 16% burns...don't know what that means...

I have not been able to find out much about this case.

- the crime was committed in March 2011
- in June 2011 three men were bailed and police appealed for witnesses
- the trial lasted 6 weeks but was not reported on
- all the news reports are identical as if they all source the same press release
- no motive has been given, but we do not know what their defence was

this is a method used seemingly in other parts of the world, when the woman has not been a dutiful wife, that is according to the husband, family, or indeed hasn't done anything wrong at all, just been targeted for some perceived slight.

Here we go again, but to humour you Andy, surely anything is better than for 'British' mothers not to have acid thrown on them.
