Severn Vale Housing said in a statement: "We'd like to stress that despite the media coverage around this property, at no point has this home been allocated to any particular family.

"We are currently working with Tewkesbury Borough Council through the allocations process to identify households with suitable needs.

"As part of this process we can confirm that the Frosts will not be moving into this property and we are currently looking at other options for the family."

A relief for the neighbours no doubt.

I expect it is not good enough and they are looking for a bigger, dearer house for it.
So who will they allocate the house to?
There can't be many on the waiting list that would need a 6 bedroom house. And with the bedroom tax in operation it would be an expensive proposition if it was under occupied.
//An unemployed mother of 11 will not be given a purpose-built six-bedroom council house, a housing association has confirmed. //

She will be given a 12 - bedroom one , instead

Sorry, can someone explain the interest in this to me? Why wouldn't she move into a house of the right size for her family?

That house has been purpose built to easily divide in to two 3 bed properties, so if there is no large family in need of housing then that may well happen
Good, She chose to have all these children, from what I read in the papers, she is living in two council houses knocked together at the moment, so she has at least 4 bedrooms, many other people manage so why can't she.
My friend is one of 17 they were brought up in a 3 bed house, and her parents worked, didn't sit back and expect everything on a plate, and they have all turned out ok,
Ian Rush, the footballer was also brought up in town, just down the road from them, He is one of 15, same, in a 3 bed house, parents worked.
If these people could manage in the days before automatic washing machines, frozen food and microwaves, then I'm sue Mrs Frost can manage as she is and should stop moaning. X
the move is probably on hold because the decor wasn't to her taste

I did read earlier in the week that she'd said that now that everyone knows where it is, and the story behind it, she was not prepared to moved in and risk her kids being bullied.
The neighbours must be relieved!

ABEd, it is the way the media has portrayed it that has enraged some people.

According to the gutter press, this lady has demanded a house be built to her specifications and if she doesn't like they'll have to build another one.

The press have also used the phrase 'given a luxury house' several times - as if she is to be the new owner, not a tenant, and of course refer to the fact she has never worked.
Hopefully I can help Ed !

It was originally reported that this huge Council house was being specially built for this woman, as she needed a bigger house to accommodate all her children. It would seem unlikely that the local Council would have gone to such an expense to build it without seeing there was need in the first place. There are plenty of feckless people that have children that they can't afford to support in Britain today, but there are very few that have 11 children.
According to the Direct Gove website she is only eligible for a 4 bedroom house based on the age and gender of her children.
Ah! OK. How odd.
that's odd because she said she was...

The man from the Housing Association - he says 'no'
lol
can somene explain why this is remotely the responsibility of the local authority to house this women?
Question Author
Errrr, because the council have a duty to put families into accommodation?

if you have a large family, and are on benefits, or so i believe.

Here you are, Tora:
Your council must help if you’re legally homeless, but how much depends on your eligibility, your level of need and if your homelessness is your fault.

You’re in priority need if:

you or someone you live with is pregnant
‘dependent children’ live with you (under 16s or under 19s if they’re studying full-time)
