Apologies if this has been asked before but do you put decorations up at Christmas time, lights, tree etc?
If you don't, do you mind if I ask why?
This years I haven't bothered because I just am not in a festive spirit.

Yes because I like them. It was a bit of an effort last year (my first without DH) but he loved to see the decs go up so I made a bit of an effort and felt better for it.
No, only did it when we had a pub. I think they're for children really.
Cant be arsed.
No, because I find them untidy after day1 and spend the rest of the time not being able to relax.
I love them but haven't bothered for the past 2 years since the Kids and grandkids moved away. We always visit them for Christmas and they have loads up..So I get the best of both worlds now
no, i don't celebrate and the hassle of it all, its seems an awful lot of fuss
I do...puts me in the festive mood...although always glad to take them down after it is all over...and the house looks all neat and tidy to start a new year.
We were away last Xmas and it just wasn`t the same as being at home...so missprim...put them up...and you will be suprised how they will make you feel.
Here`s hoping you will feel better and have a nice Xmas time.X
No, I work hard to keep the place well decorated as in paint/paper etc, I'm not sticking pins and tape all over it just for a few days!
ps. OH agrees ;o)
I put up the lot, 7ft tree, and a nice selection of lights outside on the holly tree and hanging from the gutter.
tree with lots of bird decorations, vases of silk poinsettias, garland over the fireplace with more poinsettias no pins etc

I didn't bother one year and when xmas arrived it all looked so miserable. The following year I bought a little tree (1m) and that goes up every year. I was getting bored with it, it comes around so quickly, but bought some new lights and it's given it a new look! :)
I'll pick some fresh holly & evergreens from my garden and arrange it with fresh flowers at the weekend.
baldric...not need to use pins and sticky tape.Just a tree, big or small, and a candle bridge in the window,a few artificial poinsettias in a bowl is suffice...just something to show some Xmas spirit....I wouldn`t to start ruin my walls with either
Yes always.
Not for religious, spiritual, historical or any other reason other than it gives the home a nice feeling, ready for a festive family celebration. I do enjoy christmas, its the build up I dont care for
triggerhappy..once you have bought the decorations..you have them for years to come...just a one-off expence!!
I put a tree up and the special Christmas cards, and that's about it. I can't stand the mess.
Something else I like about Xmas is to be able to wish a complete stranger who happens to walk past you in the street ,a merry Xmas.Response is always a big smile and a return greeting.Gives one a lovely warm feeling!!!!
Try it!!!
You can do that everyday by saying 'good morning/afternoon/evening' any day of the week, throughout the year.
I haven't gone overboard this year, although I still have a real tree which I've decorated in gold this year. It is in the hall and can be seen from outside, and I feel it adds to the festive feel of this time of the year.
I suppose so...but I am not confident to do that...but at Xmas...surely they can`t look at me as if I am mad!!!
