I actually got goosebumps at that and the Sex Pistols.

Strange how there was no representation of Britpop though - unless I missed it?

Actually, I was expecting that sequence to end with Adele (was hoping for 'Someone Like You').

Perhaps they're saving that and Take That for the closing ceremony?

I would also love to see Bowie make an appearance (as opposed to the almost obligatory Paul MacCartney).

I'm thoroughly enjoying this ceremony, the music s fanbloodytastic, the whole thing is very British, as it should be Danny Boyle didn't have the budget the chinese had so it's unfair to compare.

boyle had about a quarter of the chinese budget......and hasn't cheated with voice overs (remember the pretty chinese girl miming to the so called 'ugly childs' sweet voice!!!) and computer images of fireworks
