A protest to stop the eviction of an Ecuadorian family from their Spanish apartment escalated into a mass riot amid clashes with police. With more than one million Spaniards face a crippling mortgage debt and almost a quarter of the population is out of work and lLast year there were 58,000 evictions in Spain - a 22% rise.

Likley to come here or is it going to stay confined to the pverty stricken Eurozone countries?

What is the answer to this problem, is eviction really the answer afterall who buys the property if no one has any money?

Mortgages should be frozen in certain circumstances, after all we have looked after the Banks, so now is the time for them to look after us.

Rents also need to be capped at a reasonable price, as there are many private landlords screwing their tenants.

When Spain wins the football European Cup; When Nadal wins Wimbledon, when Contador wins the Tour de France and when Alonso wins Formual 1 the prize money combined would go a long way to sorting out their problems.

I'd guess the bank, or whoever owns the apartment, would be hard pressed to sell it just now. It would be better for all concerned if the family living there were allowed to stay, at least until the economic climate improves.
