Gay superheroes come out?

http://www.telegraph....age-announcement.html

It would appear that most of the childhood heroes are now coming out of the closet.

Will Batman get married to Robin, is Superman also gay, is Super Woman a Lesbian, and what will happen to He-Man?

I think I will stick with my Dandy and Beano (and don't anyone say, "I thought you only read the Daily Mail"), you know where you are with Desperate Dan and Lord Snooty.

Or do we?

Dan Dare and Digby
Sherlock Holmes and Watson !
Come to think of it, Desperate Dan does look like one of the Village People.
I'd be suspicious of any chap wearing tights, let alone with his underwear on the outside!
Are David Cameron and George Osbourne superheroes?
Cameron's wed to Clegg
Yes Canary, but which one wears the trousers (with the underpants on the outside, naturally)
"It would appear that most of the childhood heroes are now coming out of the closet. "

One has (which is actually nothing new - Northstart has been 'out' for quite a long time, it just that he's getting married). And another one is going to.

...
Also, DC just last year re-launched all its main titles in The New 52 range (Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, JLA, etc.) because the canon back-stories were getting incredibly convoluted. So now's a pretty good time to alter the sexuality of a main character if they're going to do it.

While they don't necessarily deserve the golden reputation sometimes attributed to them (especially in how they've treated women in the past), superhero comics have for a long time been pushing the envelope on introducing issues like this to younger readers. Consider the commentary on race relations in the X-Men comics of the early 70s, for instance.
canary, unhappily so if that is the case.
killed it for me when it was proposed that Albus Dumbledore was gay, now coming on that's going too far.
here we go again, these typos are getting too much, that

ho hum..
Lord Snooty - public school - aristocracy - peerage - are you quite sure?
but he was the butt of everyone's jokes. I loved Lord Snooty, Desperate Dan, Dennis the Menace, they were such wonderful characters..
Look, all the male superheroes go around in skin tight Lycra, and you are telling me you didn't cotton on ages ago ? They'd not have been more obvious if they wore a sign saying "Super Gay Here".
keyhole Kate, roger the dodger, and so many more, this brings back lot's of good memories..
