Have You Seen My Chopper?

Was a phrase I would have loved to have uttered as a child. Sadly, my parents could not afford one but I did learn to ride a bike on my friends Raleigh Chopper.

Sad then that the designer of probably the most iconic looking bicycle from the 70's has died.

They sawed it off Tony! Dropped handlebars and the seat two feet behind my bum. Mum gave me a box to get on and told me to ride it standing up.

Best I could do tonyav, not many pics out there of a bike with the crossbar hacksawed off!

Sanding the rough metal edges would have helped a little.

I had a blue one & I loved it! Went places those racing bikes couldn't... :-)
My Mum was,and still is a pain in the.....what we discussed on MrsO`s thread.
Great for those scrambling courses wheren't they LIK.
When I was at school and first started work I had a raleigh racer.

My posterior was higher than my cranium and I went like the wind:)

These days the bike has gone but the wind has remained :(
