I was so sorry to hear of the death of David Rathband, the PC blinded by gunman Raoul Moat. Obviously I don't know the circumstances but being blinded must have been so traumatic for an active police officer. Thoughts with his family.

That is so sad. The poor man worked so hard at being strong and rebuilding his life. RIP indeed.

I cried when I heard this on the radio this morning. Poor, poor man, he obviously couldn't cope in the end. What a waste.
