Would you choose if you had to be exiled to another country for the remainder of your life? And why?

I would have to choose the US or Canada.

You?

New Zealand

France or Tuscany (not a country I know, but the rest of Italy you can keep
Malta or Menorca - we love them both, and we like the heat, and there's lots of unspoiled space.
I would agree with you NoMercy or the Caribbean! ;)
Australia
Hi NoM,

I'd choose Oz as I have loads of cousins in Sydney.
Oh why:

NZ - beautiful, safe, literate, good food and wine and the NZers I like

France and Italy (certain areas for beauty, people and food and wine).
DT I am truly offended! Italy is beautiful...ok I'm biased! lol

NZ is most definitely on my to do list, DT.

Vodka, I have been to the Caribbean on numerous occasions. Idyllic, beautiful....but I would die of boredom after a couple of months.
Italy.............well to be exact Sardinia.
I've never been to Sardinia - I'd like to.
I love it NM...can't get enough of it at the mo! I'm going back again in April...can't wait! lol

I am glad you said Malta, boxtops. :-D
The USA wouldn't even feature in my top 50 (and probably not even in my top 100), NoMercy!

Canada wouldn't be too bad but, if we're sticking to countries where English is spoken, I'd opt for Australia or India (although Boxtops' suggestion of Malta is also quite appealing).

However, assuming that I could get through the language barrier, I'd probably choose somewhere in eastern Europe, such as Slovakia, simply because of the friendliness of the people.
Australia or Majorca. A little bit of sunshine, good food and slower pace of living would suit me and my arthritis.
Would you want to live in the centre of Livorno, vodka. No thanks - I said they have beautiful areas...but I would opt for Tuscany.

NZ is amazing.....was sounded out for a job there (Wellington) but it really is a little parochial - now if it had been Auckland I may have said yes. Stunning countryside, food/wine and the folk living there are very open and friendly - wonderful arts and crafts and the highest literary rate in the world (or used to be)
Italy (If they spoke English) but being as they don't it would be Australia.

Craft.. I fancy visiting Capri or Sicily. May look at Sardinia.
Capri is beautiful NM.
In Europe elsewhere, Luxembourg, Liechenstein, Jutland, and the Italian part of Switzerland, perhaps Salzburg.

Would love to get to know more about the Polish, Hungarian and Czech countryside....
Spain or Oz!
