How you live your life really does matter. It will mean for you either a happy future or a miserable one.
As a matter of fact, the more we pursue our studies, the less are we impressed by the dates which initially filled us with respect. We begin to recognize the framework of chronological history for what it is—a purely hypothetical structure, and one which threatens to come apart at every point. Crooked and tottering, it gives us a picture of a strangely arbitrary history, while at the same time our instinct tells us that the ancient civilizations must have had some sort of reasonable and organic growth. When we reach this point in our studies we begin to be doubtful of every single date!

Life obviously does matter for the future of our children, what we lean on-route will maybe help disasters, illness, structure, & most of all to stop 3rd world countries with their population growth/water/food issues, I wish I could turn the clock back on my life like many others but the route I took at that time fore filled what I then wanted to do, the way that people seem to think today is ME ME ME instead of trying to help other people, later on in my life I achived this but was distroyed by one evil person, I'm happy with what I now have Health, my own home, car, hols abroad & a stable bank balance, Does life matter? It depends on how go about it.
I don't really know what you're trying to say. What's the question?
Does any life matter ? The universe will probably just fizzle out and be uninhabitable in time so what was the point of anything ?
All that lives is born to die and nothing really matters Old Geezer, but yes Naomi...what?
Cue the religious bent coming to screen near you soon!
Anlyn, yes, indeed. That's exactly what I'm waiting for. I do wish people would get to the point instead of talking in riddles - or even in parables. :o)
well i suppose it keeps them off street corners
Universally - no. Personally - yes.

Its subjective
Why do you post a random chunk of prose as if it is your own thoughts Shanghi? You should at least credit The Secret of the Hittites as the source.
Even your first sentence is not original
HOW YOU live your life really does matter. It will mean for you either a happy future or a miserable one. Eventually it will determine whether you pass away with this world or survive its end into God’s righteous new world where you can live forever.—1 John 2:17; 2 Peter 3:13.
// Does any life matter ? The universe will probably just fizzle out and be uninhabitable in time so what was the point of anything ? //

Thanks for that. I think I'll delay coming off the antidepressants for a bit.
Shangi, I don't think anyone has any instinctive information about ancient civilisations. Instincts are responses to the environment that are built into our nervous systems. If by 'instinct' you mean 'gut feelings' or 'vague impressions', well ancient civilisations would hardly have come into existence without growing 'organically' so what is your point? My guess is something to do with god? Please tell me I'm wrong.
Jomifl, Shangi didnt write one original word - just copied and pasted two chunks of text from other websites.
He's not even an original person grasscarp. He's cut and pasted himself from another user.
Matter to whom? I presume you're getting at a deep or spiritul meaning. As far as I'm concerned I'm here as a result of a series of coincidences, and following basic instincts, as we all have to, my primary concern is to survive within the society I find myself. If I can avoid harming others along the way all to the good.
I'm certainly not arrogant enough to consider myself special or that my life beyond my family and friends has any deeper meaning. Why not say in your own words exactly what you mean, then maybe, just maybe, this could be discussed sensibly.
Thanks grasscarp, I should have spotted the signs of a 'cut & paste' ie. no spelling mistakes, no typos, decent grammar and a strange disembodied style. Looks like a suspension on the horizon!
^^I suspect one of his alter-egos is still dangling on his first.
...so there you are enjoying browsing the questions and answers on this worthy site when BANG another of elderman's alter egos pops out and zaps you with meaningless twaddle. Gives a whole new meaning to 'being shanghi'd'

Well, you are a happy lot but I’m afraid you’re wrong.
So what's your question?
When that crucial time arrives, what will your position be? To guide you in the right direction, consider again the illustration that Jesus gave: Wherever the carcass is, there the eagles will be gathered together. (Matthew 24:28)
