Kenneth Clarke knows what its like to do hard work. You try lifting yet another port and lemon after a 10 course meal . Dammed hard work I tell you. Oops ! Mind the cheese and biscuits .
lol modeller!

deary me, yet another article of 'we could' 'maybe' 'perhaps' 'the plan is' that will come to nothing. i'm surprised they didn't slip in 'available at 24 hours notice if required' or 'pure and simple'.
If there is such work to be done then it should be done by those paid a living wage to do it. To get criminals to do it means that someone is deprived of the job, and remains on welfare.
I agree Old Geezer but there are thousands of jobs which will not normally be done at all, by council or private paid workers. So no one is deprived of a job. When you look at some estates with their graffiti and litter/rubbish strewn areas that no one attempts to clean up, there is plenty of work that can be done. Maybe Kenneth could set an example and lose some of his beer belly.
