What makes people who are born into a free society such as ours, go and take up arms against us?
Surely they should be tried for treason as British Nationals fighting against their own country.

btw, this was on the News this morning and not a rant of the DM

Bobbi....I agree.....they should be shot for treason....but I guess that, like many other things, is "old fashioned"
Question Author
those days have gone sqad :-)
but I do believe they should face treachery charges
Absolutely.
if the story is substantiated and they are indeed guilty - firing squad.
Disgusting. They should be thrown out of our country.
Question Author
I don't think this is allowed carmalee..:-)
Question Author
not sure how they could actually do that Salla, y'know HR and all that!
Neither do I really Bobbi but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be allowed!
Question Author
if only carmalee, it might stop such people doing this kind of thing
Whatever else occurs, they should now be refused entry back into the country. Let them remain in Afghanistan if they are prepared to fight and die for that country.
"Off with their heads"

They will probably be flown back here at the taxpayers expense to allege cruelty by the British Army, given Legal Aid for this, together with accommodation and State handouts.
I'm not a legal expert but it seems to me it is a prima facie case. They claim to be British and yet seem to be part of the group fighting our troops.
String them up!!!
Question Author
jth, I so agree with that,
but how can we refuse entry to a British National ?
Question Author
og, they are very obviously British, they have been captured by British troops who have obviously seen their Nationality via documents
It appears that they were fighting troops from the country they are nationalised to/ born into so yes that is treason and in this case I think it should be that they are debarred from UK residence and left in Afghanistan if they are found guilty.
However treason is not such a simple thing as to be always cut and dry, especially in these islands- sometimes people commit treason because of a love of their country.
Question Author
I really can't see that latter part of your post as being the reason here NOX
why if they loved their country (in this case) would they want to kill a fellow Brit?
-- answer removed --
Sorry Nox - " sometimes people commit treason because of a love of their country."

These people almost certainly regard the UK as the Great Satan, and its native people as kaffirs.
