My G/daughters school is having a 'Grand Summer Fete' in June to help raise funds for the school to have their swimming pools changing rooms renovated, as Health & Safety have banned swimming until this is done. The council will pay half but its down to the school to raise the rest.
We've got all the usual stalls & raffles going but we're still looking for other things on Fete day to perhaps help raise our stake money. I've just thought of you ABers, I bet you've got some brill idea's.

Thanks - Jem

Fun dog show, £1 a class, open to all. Rosettes 1st to 3rd (make your own). Pay in ring so no paperwork.
I read in the paper kids were paying to be able to wear hats, sunglasses, and chew gum in class for a fund raiser.
Sponsored silence...!
When we used to have school fairs we used to have a human fruit machine?
Face painting always creates queues at our Fetes and fake tatoos too. £1 per tatoo (boys and girls designs necessary) and £3 for full face. Onc eyou've bought the paints and a few sponges they;ll be good for a number sessions.

You will need a fe volunteers of course but you can download the favourite designs for free and everyone can manage the easy ones.

Treasure hunts are good too and families pay £5 each to enter in the hope of the treasure being worth winning.

Have you asked local companies for higher level donatins? eg a TV from an electrical company as a prize or a weekend break from a local travel company or hotel. These allow you to charge more for your raffle or treasure hunt as the prize is so much better.

Other suggestions are bouncy castle, donkey rides and archery sessions. What ever you do, I wish you well and hope you have a successful time.
How about asking a local football team if they can send a few reserves in for beat the goalie?

Argh! Face painting, for eleven years I have landed the face painting stall.

How does the Human Fruit Machine work wiggal? - Cowtipper thats a good one, but for the older kids I think.

More Please - Jem
Hair braiding goes down well at our school - needs loads of people to do it though as it takes a while and always has a long queue.
car boot or table sale in school hall
Human fruit machine was 4 teachers/helpers stood in a row, one on the end holding a baseball bat covered in tin foil which they hold upright, when you pay your 50p or whatever it is you would pay, you (child) goes up and pulls down the baseball bat. Then the 3 other in the row make silly noises while rolling their hands round in a circle and then putting them in a box with a hole in the top (there is one box infront of each of the 3 people!) Each box has 3 different pieces of fruit in, and they pull one out each... if 3 of the same are pulled out, the kid wins a prize! :-)

I dont think that makes any sense what so ever lol!
Jem, I read of an idea by a Scout troop recently. Mightn't go down well with parents concerned about littlies' teeth, but it is this. The Scout troop spent about £30.00 on Smartie tubes (think that buys about 80). The Scouts were allowed to eat the sweets, or presumably trade them, and then went round their friends and relatives inviting the filling of the empty tube with 20p pieces, which were then handed in to the fund.
You have to have pretty honest kiddies for this, which I'm sure your G/daughter and her friends are! Quite what's in it for the donors I'm not sure, but if they're only giving a handful of change at a time then perhaps they don't much mind.
Ive seen the human fruit machine as well, it was brilliant, its hard to describe but if you google it they give all the details how to do it.
thank you carandrog! I used to love it, was really cool when I was little!
Think I made a mess of trying to describe it, but glad you have enlightened us that you ca google the details! :-)
Something along the lines of this.....
