/// Nearly three-quarters of households have completed and returned the forms, with the North East region leading the way at 75 per cent compliance, while London trails in last place with a total of only 60 per cent.///

Now I wonder why that is?

Trouble is Nox they can fine you up to £1,000 if you refuse to fill it in. It is a legal requirement.

Census web site says "The fine for not completing and returning a 2011 Census questionnaire is up to £1,000. You may also have to pay costs"

See here

I got a reminder card through my door today. Mine is done and gone.
Sorted mine the day it arrived, nothing to hide!.........done and dusted!..........
Yeah I know that VHG, but frankly I'd just rather stand the fine than fill it in, I've never filled one in yet and I've never actually been prosecuted either so fingers crossed they'll write it off like they have all the other years:)
'' while London trails in last place with a total of only 60 per cent. ''

Probably because most of them are immigrants legal/illegal and cant understand English or write it!!!!
If you are prepared to face the fine, all well and good. I admire you for sticking to your principles whatever your objections are.
They say driving a car without road tax can cost you a £1,000 fine but it never happens!
Mrs E filled ours in, Invasion of privacy if you ask me, waste of time and money

Do you think that the poor return rate for London is because the place is full of Lazy foreigners?

I don't wish to be rude but do you have some kind of speech impediment because at times I can't understand a word you are saying?

Here are 74,500 that won't be filling them in.

Someone in my building hasn't done it, we have a communal mailbox and I answered the door to the lady delivering them and put them in the pigeonholes. When I checked the next day someone had stuck theirs back in my pigeonhole so I moved it into another one and it is still there. I hope they get fined!
