The latest poll shows the Tories ahead by 7 points. Tories 43% Labour 36% . If there was a general election tomorrow would you be following this trend? Let's have an AB poll.

Speaking for myself i will not be voting for either party after the damage they have done to this country over the last ten years do not forget the tories have supported labour on many occasions so i hold them guilty as well the only voice we have to tell them they are not listening to us is to vote them out of office maybe then we will see some changes for the better !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I could never bring myself to vory Tory. Maggie Thatcher saw to that.

Whoever you vote for the government always gets in.

I remember the Tories being hated by pretty much everyone I knew. They were pushing Family Values(TM) while bonking their secretaries. They all seemed to use their position of power to help themselves and their mates. There seemed to be a new scandal every week. The Tories simply imploded.
Then the cheshire cat and New Labour came along and finally it seemed that things would change. Only it didn't really did it. They've been a better Tory party than the Tories themselves which is why they've never really recovered.

I used to be able to name all the cabinet ministers and what they did. Under Labour I wouldn't recognise most of them let alone name what they did. They are just faceless media spun bureaucrats.

The electorate are apathetic because New Labour have shown that no matter who gets in they're all still a bunch of ineffectual w@nkers.

Ok that first line should have read ' I could never bring myself to vote Tory.' Curse my fingers.

I'll be voting, and I think everyone who can, should, for me, it'll be Tory, but everyone to their own.

I love the way that Tory bashers always hark back to Margaret Thatcher, no-one else, and yes, certain people have good reasons not to like her, Miners, Printers etc, but she brought the pride back into this country, and made it viable on the world stage again.

Best post war leader this countries had.

I believe I bashed both the Tories and Labour.

Tories for being self serving weasels when in power and Labour for being little different.

I am an ashamed Labour voter and unless a real alternative comes in I shall continue to vote for them in a rather reluctant way.

When did this question become a suggestion for the improvment of AB?

Doesn't matter - unless you happen to live in a marginal seat.

Either party can be ahead as much as they like but if that swing is only in their safe seats it doesn't make any difference.

Add that to the rapid change in polls recently and I don't think you should have much confidence in them right now.

A bit like a weather forecaster coming up with widely varying forecasts every day - we all know what that means don't we?

Jake is right. These percentages mean nothing.
We're simply witnessing the backlash at the end of the Brown honeymoon period when everyone realises he's basically just a slimy con artist like all the others (as evidenced by the non-election/policy stealing fiasco).
A couple of months from now and the figures will have reversed again probably.
