Tuesday. It's 5.8°C outside, very nearly sub-tropical! fine by me.

Yesterday was even warmer, but lots of steady, gentle rain stopping anything being done outside. Today, with a bit of luck.

Tiggy is still asleep, I'm checking him every day in case he wakes up. If he does I will have to bring him indoors.

Have a happy day everyone.

Afternoon seekz. xxx Nice to see you my lovely. I'm looking forward to summer here. When I was young and stupid I quite liked the winter and snow, now I'm a lot older, but just as stupid, I'm a summer soldier. :o}

How are you keeping?
Strange how things/we change ....I didn't mind the hot weather while growing up, now anything over 25 and I run for cover :))

Saw something on a programme with Michael Portillo the other day, travelling in Scotland on a canal where the boat was lowered 100ft(?) while the opposite was lifted ....Archimedes principal I think....do you happen to know where that might have been, I missed the dialogue and have been hunting for it and then suddenly thought ....boaty might know !!
Good morning you two, from a hot and bothered Oz.

43c here today, bit of humidity, just to make it very uncomfortable.

Trust both are well.

I know the one you mean It's the Falkirk Wheel. A masterpiece of engineering. It is so finely balanced it only uses the same amount of electricity to turn as is used to boil a kettle. It's also a very good looking object.
This would be the rather large gizmo Seekrz

It's like that in Malaya most of the time. well, it was in the 60's, I don't suppose it's changed.
All good thanks Boaty, except for the damp clingy clothes ;-/

How's you going?
Question Author
Still breathing mate ta. :o} I'm not too fond of this damp weather though.
Feel it all the way to the bones?

Bet your heating system is way better than ours ;-/
Question Author
Spot on mate. it's not that cold at the moment, but the damp makes breathing hard work sometimes.
Question Author
I've got a very good gas heating system.
Our winters can get cold here, -8c was the worst, but they don't last long. Usually dry with a good frost in the morn.

We rely on an enclosed fireplace and an oil filled electric radiator for the extremities of the house.

Seems to work,,,,,,just.
Question Author
As long as it works mate. I rarely close internal doors, so the temperature is the same throughout the house. Four radiators do the job, the kitchen radiator is permanently off.
Question Author
The coldest we've had here was -12°C. at the bottom of the hill it was -20°C!
