I'm curious- how did you all choose your profile names?

I'm not asking for any personal information, or anything that could uniquely identify you, so please bear this in mind when answering. I'm just curious, and unlike most of my posts, there is not agenda here, hidden or otherwise.

I'll start...the 'SP' are the initials of the street I lived on when I got my first home PC, and 1814 refers to my favourite album at that time (Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation 1814).

I couldn't think of a user name and was staring at the screen mumbling 'ummm umm ummmm'
I took the pen name of one of my favourite German poets.
It was an ironic name given to me by a (very young) god-child at a time of my life when I was anything but sunny.

I now try to live up to the name - but occasionally the old grumpy-dave returns ...
sort of like an eighteenth century lit character - Dr Slop, Mistress Quickly, Eau de Pippleparrot, Desmond Donkey-drawers
mine's pretty evident as to crosswords.
I tried loads of usernames first - all taken. And eventually ended up going through old pets' names and adding numbers in.
Not sure if I qualify as a news section contributor?

Mine's my old dog's- well he was called Boo which I couldn't have as it was already in use (though never ruddy seen 'em!) so I chose what I thought was a good alternative.
At the time of acceptance to this hallowed organisation I had fewer than 9402 dugs.
I like wolves and I was born in 1963. I tried to get ed to take the year off so I could lie about my age.

Another member of my household is called frankiecat - my little boy (currently glaring at me menacingly) but he lost interest in AB and only visits when he isn't on FB.

(Yes - I am sad!)
Anagram of my real name (only Christian name - to preserve some anonymity)
How many posts must we have put in news to qualify as a Contributor so can answer? Is it a bit like tripadvisor rankings?
Wanted a name that was a complete antithesis of me.!!

Sir Oracle from Merchant of Venice by Wm. Shakespeare.

Definition: A dogmatic pedant or a dictatorial prig.

Felt it appropriate to A FEW on this site.
Not sure if I qualify as a News contributor either but - my first born Grandson couldn't say 'Grandma' when he started to talk but said 'Mamya' instead and Lynne is my name.

I like Turnips!
Ice hockey player and coach in my sporting past.... I used to have a rather good Slapshot...
I was trying to learn the piano at the time, and in particular a Beethoven piece.
LOL....so why ludwig.
Hymie - put me out of my misery please, what is Hymie an anagram for?
Because I'm fruity ...
Looks better than 'Van';-)
